Shiao Wanted Just One More Club

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Perry Shiao
Perry Shiao

An early-position player raised to 2,500 and Perry Shiao called from the button. The big blind came along to make it three-way action to the flop, which came down {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

Two checks saw Shiao bet 3,500 and the big blind called. The original raiser got out of the way and then both players checked the {4-Spades} turn as well as the {a-Spades} river.

The big blind showed the {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a pair and missed flush draw and Shiao tabled the {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a better missed flush draw that turned into a rivered pair of aces.

Big Blind Special for Katrandzhiev

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Veselin Katrandzhiev
Veselin Katrandzhiev

The player in the hijack opened for 2,000 and all four players left to act called, including Veselin Katrandzhiev out of the big blind.

Two checks on the {3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} flop saw the original raiser continue for 3,700 and action folded back to Katrandzhiev, who check-raised to 17,000.

The hijack hit the tank for nearly two minutes before folding while flashing the {k-Clubs}.

Katrandzhiev then showed him it was a good laydown as he'd flopped two pair holding the {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Niedelman Eliminates Phan in Three-Way All-In Pot

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante
Jeff Niedelman
Jeff Niedelman

Jeff Niedelman was sitting in a big stack when he opened for 1,200. The player on the button called and then Harvey Ayers three-bet to 5,800 from the small blind, leaving himself 8,000 or so back.

Tuan Phan was in the big and proceeded to four-bet all in for roughly 25,000.

"Let's gamble," Niedelman said and spiked in his big stack. The player on the button got out of the way, Ayers called off, and all three players tabled their hands.

Niedelman: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Phan: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Ayers: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Ayers was out in front and shipped the triple after the board ran out {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. However, Niedelman paired his eight to win the side pot and send Phan to the rail.

Picca Busts Balzano

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante
Bernardo Picca
Bernardo Picca

We stumbled upon the action preflop with Paul Balzano, who had 4,400 out in front of him, debating what to do. Bernardo Picca had made it 20,000 to go from the cutoff and eventually Balzano called.

When the flop fell {5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, Balzano checked and Picca moved all in. Balzano had 29,400 back and didn't seem thrilled with the spot. He called off nonetheless.

Balzano: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Picca: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Balzano had flopped top pair with top kicker but was still behind the overpair of Picca. Neither the {2-Clubs} turn nor {3-Clubs} river helped Balzano and he headed for the exit.
