Day 1a of Event #6: 1M GTD Mystery Bounty is in the books after over ten hours of play. This first of eight flights attracted 53 entries, which played down to just seven players (12%) at the end of the day.

Bagging the chip lead amongst the surviving seven was Matthew Meyer who finished the day with 581,500. He was spotted as a chip leader within the first few levels as he had the highest count on the first chip count collection of the day. He carried that lead throughout and ended the day with another boon when he busted Jeremy Bocka as the bubble boy.

Second in chips at the day’s conclusion was Justin Jones with 476,500 who really started to accumulate chips close to the end of the night when the players joined together at one table.

Adrian Garduno finished the night in third place with 470,000 after getting a bunch after a wild three-way all in when he went runner runner full house to crack a flush and a nut flush draw.

Kevin Garosshen hung on and found a bag and a cash after he was the short stack on the bubble and ended with 80,500.

The seven players will move on to Day 2 which is not until Sunday. There are still seven more flights to go to determine who will join these seven In advancing.

PokerNews will continue with coverage of Day 1b which is now underway.

Brocka Bubbles Day 1a

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Jeemy Bocka (from a previous Event)
Jeemy Bocka (from a previous Event)

Jeremy Bocka was all in and at risk with the {a-}{j-} and ahead against the {k-}{q-} of Matthew Meyer.

But the board would be cruel to Bocka as a king came on the flop and a queen on the turn and the broadway draw would not connect on the river as he became the last elimination of the night.

Shirki Shakes Off Bubble Threat

Level 13 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Shlomi Shirki was all in on the bubble after he jammed from the button and got called by Andrew Dennis in the big blind.

Shirki had the lead with the {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} vs the {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} of Dennis.

A queen was in the window to spook Shirki but there was a king as well as the flop came {q-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. The turn brought more sweat with the flush draw when the {9-Diamonds} came off but the river was the {3-Spades} to the relief of Shirki and to the chagrin of everyone else who wanted ot make the money right then.
