Magnus Picks Off Bluff

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Nadya Magnus
Nadya Magnus

Nadya Magnus was heads up from the cutoff against one player in the big blind on a {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop. Magnus bet 2,000 after being checked to and her opponent called.

Both players checked on the {2-Clubs} turn; however, the big blid led out for 4,000 on the {j-Diamonds} river. Magnus quickly called and her opponent revealed {q-Clubs}{10-Spades} for air. Magnus tabled {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for nines and deuces and took down the pot.

Le Fighting to Survive

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A player opened to 5,500 from middle position and found one caller in Tuan Le in the big blind.

Both players checked on the {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop, but Le shoved for remaining 8,000 on the {8-Hearts} turn.

"Why didn't you just shove pre?" Le's opponent mused. He agonized for a while, but eventually let his hand go and Le took down the pot.

And The Tally is...

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Now that late registration has ended, the tournament staff has confirmed that Day 1c had a total of 1,032 entries.

This number brings the total entries (including Day 1a and 1b) to 2,011, which is well more than enough to cover the $2 million guarantee.

Total prize pool numbers will be posted later tonight when they become available.

Engel Gets Brown to Fold

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Ari Engel
Ari Engel

On a board of {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs}, it appeared Ari Engel had bet, was called by one other player, and then squeezed to 16,600 by Camille Brown. Action was back on Engel, who raised back to 29,500. The initial caller got out of the way and Brown went into the tank.

Brown took a last peak at her cards and folded.

"I'll show if you show," Brown said. "I wanna see your cards!"

"It was a good fold," Engel replied, refusing to show his cards as he scooped the pot.

"I had aces," Brown added.

Players are now on dinner break.

Play will resume at about 6:40 p.m. local time.

Vampan Lays on The Aggression

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

In what appeared to be a three-bet pot, Daniel Vampan bet 4,400 from the small blind on a {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. His lone opponent on the button called.

The {k-Diamonds} came on the turn and Vampan cut out a bet to 12,900 and fired it into the middle, sending his opponent into the tank. He eventually let his hand go and Vampan rapped the table before scooping the pot.

Same Hand For Le

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player opened to 2,500 in early position and was three-bet to 6,700 from the player in the lojack.

Action folded to Tuan Le in the big blind, who four-bet shoved for about 24,000. The initial raiser folded, but the lojack called.

Lojack: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Le: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Both players held pocket tens and the {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{3-Diamonds} runout didn't contain any flush shenanigans, so Le and his opponent chopped up the pot.
