Triple Up for Sitbon

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Julien Sitbon
Julien Sitbon

Down to fewer than one third of the starting stack, Julien Sitbon was all-in with the {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Alexander Zeligman had that barely covered and was in there with the {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} while Youness Barakat had both comfortably covered, revealing the {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}.

Barakat was fearing the worst while Sitbon had left his seat and predicted the nine of clubs would fall. Sure enough that's what happened on the {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{k-Clubs}{a-Clubs} board as Sitbon tripled. Zeligman won the small side pot and bowed out shortly after.

Pavlov Doubles Through Peffly

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Atanas Pavlov was chipped down prior to the dinner break and then got it in with the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. He was looked up by Alex Peffly with the {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and the board ran out {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} to keep Pavlov in contention. The Bulgarian doubled for 18,100 and jumped back above the starting stack.

Jung Takes From Spragg

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Ben Spragg and Oliver Price were among many players to join after the dinner break and the former was involved in three-way action. Sebastian Jung had raised on the button to get called by Spragg in the small blind and Alex Jennings in the big blind.

There was no major action until the {j-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} river on which Spragg and Jennings checked. Jung bet 6,000 into 7,000 and Spragg tank-called while Jennings folded. Once Jung revealed {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for the nuts, Spragg sent his cards into the muck.

Stapleton Doubles Through Miller

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Joe Stapleton
Joe Stapleton

Joe Stapleton defended the big blind against Adam Miller and spiked trips with {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} on the {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop. Miller regained the lead with {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} after the {5-Hearts} fell on the turn but the {2-Spades} river paired the board once more to let Stapleton double his short stack of 9,300.

Kehoe Doubles Right Before Dinner

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

In the last hand before the dinner break, Eliran Argelazi clashed with Stephen Kehoe and the latter was the player at risk for what appeared to be 16,200.

Stephen Kehoe: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Eliran Argelazi: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Both players held premium pairs and it was Kehoe who came out on top on the {j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} board to head into dinner on a positive note.

Stapleton Short; Lehrer Doubles

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Joe Stapleton raised to 1,600 off a short stack and Toby Wilkins called out of the big blind. They checked all the way to the {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} river on which Wilkins bet. With a smile on the face, Stapleton folded and added "I had the only pair you cannot call with."

One hand later, a short-stacked Benjamin Lehrer was all-in with {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} against the {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} of Costin-Geani Manole. The pocket pair held on the {5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} board and Lehrer staved off elimination.

Talbot Doubles Through Rauhut

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Parker Talbot was once more with a short stack of just 9,300 and Thomas Rauhut looked that up.

"You have the winner," Talbot was certain of as he feared the worse with his {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} versus {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. However, the prediction of Talbot turned out to be wrong on the {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} runout to keep the PokerStars ambassador in contention.
