In a four-way pot on a flop of 7♦J♠4♦, action checked to Tomas Jozonis on the button and he bet 150,000. Benny Glaser called in the small blind and Jean-Robert Bellande and Daniel Negreanu folded behind him.
Glaser checked on the 4♥ turn and Jozonis sized up to 600,000 to bring a fold from the eight-time bracelet winner.
The stacked table also includes high-stakes pro Christoph Vogelsang and all-time money leader Bryn Kenney, leading a bystander to comment that it was a "fun table."
With a new crew on the Lagoon feature table, Andre Moreira opened for 120,000 from the hijack, Ryan Depaulo flatted from the cutoff, then James Caputo three-bet for 300,000 from the button.
After both blinds folded, Moreira moved in for 890,000 total. Depaulo glanced to his right and left as the three players were starting to experience déjà vu from the controversial hand they had during the previous level. He opted to send his 8♠8♦ into the muck. Caputo made it clear he was calling, having Moreira covered.
Andre Moreira: J♠J♥
James Caputo: K♦K♣
For the second time in two levels, Moreira had run pocket jacks into pocket kings and this time he was covered by his opponent. The board ran out A♣6♦6♥4♦Q♠ and brought no help for Moreira, who reported to the rail, while Caputo chipped up to 4.5 million.
Hugo Machado opened to 125,000 in the hijack, finding a call from Daniel Thaller on the button.
The dealer delivered the A♠3♣3♥ flop, and both players checked to see the 6♦ turn.
Another pair of checks led to the 2♥ river, where Machado led out 300,000. Thaller quickly sent his hand into the muck as the bet was announced, and Machado collected the pot.
Action was picked up on the turn with the board showing 6♣5♣3♥10♦ and Zdenek Zizka all in with Antonio Galiana putting him at risk.
Zdenek Zizka: 7♥7♣
Antonio Galiana: A♥4♥
Zizka was in front with his pocket sevens and Galiana could not find an ace or hit his straight draw after the J♣ hit the river to give Zizka a double up.
Jonathan Wang opened to 125,000 from early position before Jan-Peter Jachtmann made it 285,000 from the next seat over. Wang made it 600,000 and snap-called for the 1,700,000 he had behind when Jachtmann shoved.
Jonathan Wang: A♠A♥
Jan-Peter Jachtmann: A♣K♦
The 5♥4♥3♣ flop meant Jachtman could chop the pot with a deuce. The 6♦ turn now meant a seven would also split the spoils. The 7♠ completed the board, giving both players a seven-high straight.
Murilo Fidelis opened to 120,000 from the hijack before Nacho Barbero made it 275,000 from the cutoff. Paulo Drummond four-bet shoved for 725,000 from the small blind, prompting Fidelis to re-jam for around 1,065,000. Barbero snap-called as the bigger stack, and the cards were tabled.
Paulo Drummond: 10♠10♦
Murilo Fidelis: A♥A♦
Nacho Barbero: K♠K♣
The aces remained best, and Fidelis scooped the pot after the 7♣9♦5♠9♠9♥ runout.
