Hero Call Gone Wrong

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Alexander Zubov
Alexander Zubov

Jesse Lonis raised to 4,000 from the hijack, before Paulius Vaitiekunas three-bet 15,000 on the cutoff. Alexander Zubov on the button then put in a four-bet to 35,000. It folded back to Loins who folded as well, but Vaitiekunas made the call.

The flop came 322 and Vaitiekunas check-called a bet of 30,00 from Zubov.

After the Q on the turn, Vaitiekunas again check-called a bet, this time for 45,000.

The river brought the 6 and after Vaitiekunas checked, Zubov bet to Vaitiekunas all in. Vaitiekunas then went deep into the tank, using multiple time banks. Vaitiekunas stared Zubov down, who refused to look back at his opponent.

Eventually Vaitiekunas made the call and tabled AK for just ace high, but Zubov turned over QxQx for queens full of deuces to take the pot and eliminate Vaitiekunas.
