Reese Out in 10th; Final Table Set!

Scott Reese - 10th place finisher
Scott Reese - 10th place finisher
Shortly after the ten remaining finalists broke to a single table, tenth place was decided in a monstrous hand that saw Scott Reese eliminated from the tournament by tournament chip leader Edward Sabat.

Action folded around to Sabat, who opened with a 22,000 raise; Reese was the lone caller. The flop came {6-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and Sabat passed the first action to Reese, who put in a min-bet of 8,000. Sabat then check-raised to 38,000 -- a bet that was countered by another min-raise from Reese, who made it 68,000 to go. Sabat finalized the raising by putting Reese to a decision for all of his chips. Forget decisions, however; Reese insta-called, tabling {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} for trip queens, but Sabat had him in bad shape with {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

The turn and river, though they had no impact on the end result, came {J-Spades}, {4-Clubs}, and Sabat took down the pot, extending his chip lead over the other eight players who will join him at tomorrow’s final table.

Reese took home $11,309 for his tenth-place finish.

Doug Caillier Eliminated in 12th Place ($11,309)

Lee Watkinson has just eliminated Doug Caillier from the tournament in 12th place after the two players engaged in a pre-flop all-in confrontation. Caillier tabled {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for a slight lead against Watkinson's {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

The board filled out {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}, giving Watkinson a rivered pair of queens and the checkmark for the hand.

Caillier took home $11,309 in prize money for his 12th-place finish. Watkinson stacked up just under 400,000 in chips with the win.

Sang Hwang Eliminated in 13th Place ($9,895)

Sang Hwang

Action folded around to Sang Hwang in the small blind and he raised all in for his last 43,000 chips. Damien Oborne called the all in from the big blind.

Hwang showed {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Damien showed his love for suited connectors, tabling {10-Spades}{9-Spades}. Oborne flopped an open-ended straight draw on the {8-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{2-Spades} board but it was the {10-Hearts} on the turn that gave him a pair and the winning hand when the {5-Clubs} failed to improve Hwang's hand.
