Binger of Good Fortune?

Michael Binger, who finished third in the WSOP Main Event in 2006 and tied a record for cashes in last year's Series, is here sweating John Murphy in his heads up battle at Table #1 versus Tom Roupe.

Jamshidi Cracks Aces

Elton Beebe raised to 21,000 in the small blind and Sirous Jamshidi called in the big blind. The flop was {K-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Jamshidi checked and Beebe went all in. Jamshidi called for 148,000. He showed {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts} to {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} for Beebe. The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, but the river was the {6-Hearts}, giving Jamshidi the flush and climbing his stack to 340,000. Beebe is down to 260,000.

Murphy Doubles Up

At Table #1, Tom Roupe raised to 20,000 from the small blind/button and John Murphy called. The flop came {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{6-Spades}. Roupe checked, Murphy pushed his remaining 75,700 all in, and Roupe called.

Roupe showed {K-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Murphy tabled {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The turn was the {Q-Spades} and the river the {8-Hearts}, and Murphy doubled up to 196,000. Roupe has 404,000.

Three Tables of Heads Up Remain

Three tables are left now, with only two participants at each. Three players have already moved on to tomorrow's final table. Here are the remaining matches:

Table 1
John Murphy vs. Tom Roupe

Table 4
Elton Beebe vs. Sirous Jamshidi

Table 5
John Juanda vs. Timothy West

Go West? Not Yet.

Tim West
Tim West
After chipping away at Tim West's stack for a bit, John Juanda raised to 18,000 from the small blind/button, and West reraised all in with his remaining 88,000. Juanda called and showed {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. West tabled {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

The board came {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}, and West's ace-high held up. West is back up to 180,000, while Juanda again has 420,000.

Phil Tom Advances to Round 2

Phil Tom limped from the small blind/button and Richard Kirsch checked his option. The flop came {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. Tom checked, Kirsch bet 20,000, Tom minimum-reraised to 40,000, and Kirsch pushed the rest of his chips in the middle, about 65,000 total.

Tom, with over 500,000 chips, only had to commit a small amount to make the call. But he didn't act right away. A minute passed. Then two. Then seven. That's right, seven.

Finally Tom said "Well, what are you going to do?" "The action is on you," replied Kirsch. "Oh!" said Tom, "I call."

Kirsch {9-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Tom {J-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and the river the {6-Hearts}, and Tom took the pot. Tom advances to tomorrow's final table.

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades} and Katchalov was eliminated. Roupe is up to 408,000 to only 92,000 for John Murphy.

Watch It on the Beebe

In the small blind, Sirous Jamshidi raised to 16,000 and Elton Beebe called in the big blind. The flop was {5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Beebe checked. Jamshidi bet 18,000 and Beebe called. The turn was {A-Spades}. Both checked. The river was {2-Diamonds}, Beebe bet 50,000 and Jamshidi called. He showed {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, but Beebe had {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for the better straight, and he's up to 390,000 to Jamshidi's 210,000.
