The Master Taught a Lesson

We again join the action on the flop for this hand. The dealer spreads out {A-Spades} {A-Hearts} {4-Spades} . Action is checked to Men "The Master" Nguyen, who puts out a bet of 600, and his lone opponent, Mike Michnik, makes the call from the small blind.

The turn card is a {5-?}, and once again play checks to Nguyen. This time he puts out 800 chips, but Michnik comes over the top for 2,500. The Master makes the call.

Fifth street is a {2-?}, and Michnik relinquishes control of the betting, giving Nguyen the opportunity to bet 5,000. Apparently, that was the plan, as Michnik then comes over the top again, going all in for 9,000 total. Nguyen makes the call, and his opponent flips over {4-?}{4-?} for a full house. Nguyen looks frustrated, and tosses his cards into the muck. After the hand, Men The Master is left with about 3,750 in front of him, while Michnik sits pretty with a big stack of 27,000.

The Magician Disappears

Antonio Esfandiari, seated under the gun, opens the pot to 1,100, nearly his entire stack. The player beside him reraises all in, and Esfandiari drops his last few chips into the pot. The cards are turned up, with Esfandiari's {K-Spades} {J-Clubs} dominated by {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds}.

The board rags off entirely as it comes {8-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {2-Spades} {5-Hearts}, and The Magician vanishes from the table.

Ramdin Races Against Big Slick

A player raised to 650 and Victor Ramdin reraised to 2,050. His opponent moved all in and Ramdin called.

Ramdin: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}

The flop ends all hope for his opponent after Ramdin flops quads with a board of {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {6-Spades}.

Ramdin eliminated his opponent and increased his stack to 9,800.

Boutin Sinks

From under the gun, Burt Boutin limps, and he and both blinds see a flop of {2-?} {5-?} {9-?}. The small blind bets out 500, the big blind folds, and Boutin makes a raise, putting in enough chips to cover his opponent. The small blind makes the call with {A-?} {9-?}, and Boutin needs some help for his {4-?} {4-?}. The turn and river, {K-?} {6-?}, fail to improve his hand, and he drops down to 2,425.

On the very next hand, a player in late position raises to 600. Boutin reraises all in from the big blind, showing {8-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}. His opponent confidently tables {J-Diamonds} {J-Spades} . The board runs out {4-Spades} {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {3-Hearts}, and Boutin is eliminated in two quick hands.

Doubling Devilfish

With a raise in front, David "Devilfish" Ulliott reraises all in for 1,300. His opponent calls with {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}, and is behind the Devilfish, who tables {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades} .

The flop brings a full house for Ulliott when it comes {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} . The turn and river rag off with {4-Spades}, {7-Diamonds}, and Devilfish doubles up to 3,000.

John "Tex" Barch

John "Tex" Barch and an opponent got it all in on a board that read {5-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {2-Clubs}. Barch held {5-Hearts} {5-Spades} and his opponent had a straight, holding the {6-Hearts} {6-Spades}. Barch needed to pair the board, but couldn't do so when the {Q-Clubs} fell on the river. He is now down to 2,400 chips.

Liz Lieu Sent to the Rail

We pick up the action on the turn, with Liz Lieu involved in a big pot. The board shows {K-Spades} {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} and the {5-Hearts} hits on fourth street.

Lieu checks over to her lone opponent, who makes a bet of 600. Lieu makes the call.

The river pairs the board, {Q-Diamonds}, and Lieu checks again. The other player bets out 1,100, and Lieu check-raises all in. She is quickly called by her opponent, who shows {A-?} {A-?}, making aces full of queens.

Lieu flashes her unknown cards to another player who laments, "Nothing you can do." Lieu has been eliminated just after our break.

Yang Dodges the Nuts

Three players, including Jerry Yang, checked all the way to the river on a board reading {A-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {8-Clubs}. One of the players then moved all in and Yang stood up as he tanked for a while. After a few minutes, he folded, showing two pair, {6-Spades} {5-Hearts}. His opponent was nice enough to show the nuts, {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts} as Yang sat back down.
