Tim Taft Eliminated in 13th Place ($26,076)

Tim Taft
Tim Taft
From under the gun, J.C. Tran opens the betting with a raise to 35,000. Matt Keikoan and Tim Taft both make the call.

The three-way flop comes out {8-Clubs} {10-Spades} {8-Diamonds} . The betting is checked over to Taft, and he moves all in for 107,000. J.C. Tran flat-calls, but Keikoan is not so easily pacified. He puts in a raise over the top, adding another 200,000 in chips to the total bet. This is enough to get J.C. to duck out, and we have a showdown:

Taft: {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs}
Keikoan: {8-Spades} {9-Spades}

Taft is well behind his opponent's trips and in danger of being knocked out. The turn and river seal his fate when they come {J-Hearts} ,{A-Diamonds} respectively.

Tim Taft has certainly had a good two days, and he will take home a nice little payday of over $26,000 for his performance.

Keikoan, meanwhile, has nearly 1,000,000 in chips after taking down that oversized pot.

Theo Still Lamenting a Non-Call

Theo Tran, the current chip leader at about 1,150,000 is still talking to tablemates about a call he didn't make less than an hour ago against Shannon Shorr.

Even when a railbird stopped by to ask Theo his count, all Tran could mention was what he thought was a three-barrel bluff by Shorr on a king-high board — not his massive chip stack.

Three Times More Tran

Starting right around the dinner break yesterday, we had three players in particular who made a noticeable charge towards the top of the leader board. It would have been apparent anyways, but the fact that the three men shared a common last name made it stand out all the more.

The Tran boys, Theo, Jimmy, and J.C., took their time for the first half of the day, and then went on a tear when the remaining players came back full after supper. We sort of anticipated that they would charge deep into the field, but their effort today is truly something to behold.

Remarkably, with just 13 players left, we still have our three Trans playing for it all. Collectively, their decisions have been razor sharp, and their play has been nearly flawless. Here are their respective chip counts as it stands right now:

Theo: 1,070,000
J.C.: 290,000
Jimmy: 240,000

If you're a betting man, you'd do well to put your money on a Tran tomorrow.

Issam Abbas Eliminated in 14th Place ($26,076)

Issam Abbas
Issam Abbas
In early position, Mihai Manole puts in a raise to 30,000. He gets two callers, Abbas and Taft, and the three men go to the flop.

It comes {8-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {9-Clubs}. Check. Check. Check.

Fourth street brings the {9-Spades}. Manole leads out into the pot with a bet of 50,000. After taking a few moments to deliberate, Abbas jams it up to 150,000. Taft folds. Manole calls.

River: {J-Hearts}. Manole passes the bet this time, and Abbas moves all in for approximately 170,000. Manole makes the snap call, showing down {K-Spades} {J-Spades}. Abbas frustratingly tables {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}, as he stands up and makes his departure from the table.

With his 14th-place finish, Issam Abbas takes home a little over $26,000.

Dustin 'Neverwin' Woolf Eliminated in 15th Place ($26,076)

Neverwin Lives Up to Name
Neverwin Lives Up to Name
Alex Bolotin raised 27,000 from the button and Dustin "Neverwin" Woolf went all in for about 150,000 from the small blind. The big blind, Chris Bjorin, put his last 63,000 in and Bolotin went into the tank before he called.

Bjorin had {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, Woolf had {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Bolotin showed {A-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

The board came {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Bjorin's river flush snatched the pot away from his opponents.

Bjorin moves up to 207,000, Bolotin wins the side pot to go to 215,000 and Neverwin is out.

Darren Nelson Eliminated in 16th Place ($18,833)

Issam Abbas opens the betting to 35,000 from the cutoff. Darren Nelson, seated on the button, pushes all in for 129,000. Next seat over, in the small blind is Matt Keikoan, and he makes the call in between! Abbas folds, and the other two players show their hands.

Nelson: {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts}
Keikoan: {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}

The flop pairs up Nelson when it spreads out {9-Spades} {10-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} . The turn pairs the board, {9-Diamonds} , and the river {2-Diamonds} fails to get Nelson over the hump.

He is headed out of here in 16th place, taking home $18,833, while Keikoan has chipped up to 615,000.

Keith Carter Eliminated in 18th Place ($18,833)

Keith Carter has just become the latest casualty of Event #7.

He and Theo Tran got tangled up, and all the chips went in preflop. Carter tabled {A-Hearts} {10-Clubs} while Tran had him dominated with {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}.

The board proved useless for the underdog, as it ran out {3-Hearts} {A-Spades} {J-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {J-Hearts}.

Carter did move up in the pay scale, and for his effort, he will pocket $18,833.

We Are Down to 18!

With the last elimination, we have just 18 players remaining in the field. Seats have been redrawn, and we're playing on until we have nine more bust-outs.
