That's Dirty

Just before the break, David Rheem got away with one. He raised to 1,800 preflop and was called by one player. Rheem checked the {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} flop to his opponent, who bet 3,000. Rheem check-raised to 9,000; his opponent called.

On the {4-Spades} turn, Rheem checked in the dark. The cutoff bet 8,000 and again Rheem called. When the river fell {10-Spades}, Rheem bet 9,500, enough to put his opponent all in. His opponent did make the call with {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}, then slammed the table in frustration when Rheem showed {J-Spades} {2-Spades}.

Rheem is now up to 148,000.

Cox-less

Even though he managed to make that great preflop laydown before the break, Greg Cox didn't manage to make it to the break. It's like he knew he would be going back to bed soon as he turned up in his bath robe for today's play.

Queen Rainer

Just before the break Rainer Meyer managed to double up to 45,000. He held {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades} and found a willing customer in Theodore Pakl in the big blind with {A-Spades} {Q-Hearts}.

The board came {K-Hearts} {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {J-Hearts}.

Park getting low on 21,000.

John Myung Eliminated

You won't go far in a poker tournament if you can't win a few races, and John Myung lost two that put him out of the Main Event. Earlier he lost with ace-king to pocket sevens. On his final hand he lost with pocket eights to ace-king. Reverse those two hands and he has a very healthy stack, but they went the other way and Myung has been eliminated.

Patience Personified

Greg Cox has some game about him. Sitting on only 7,500 chips he just managed to pass pocket queens preflop.

There was a raise from under the gun and then a reraise. He read the situation so well as the reraise player had pocket aces. To be able to distance yourself from that hand and make the right call takes some doing when you're sitting so shallow.
