Clash of the Big Stacks

A relentless Shawn Buchanan
A relentless Shawn Buchanan
Our two big stacks, Shawn Buchanan and Andrew Wang have just clashed with the result being that they have effectively swapped positions.

Buchanan continued with his relentless aggression and raised from under the gun holding {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Action folded to Wang on the button, who raised it up with Buchanan making the call.

They saw a flop of {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Buchanan check-raised the bet from Wang, who made the call. The same situation unfolded on the {7-Spades}, with Buchanan putting in yet another check-raise. Wang wasn't going anywhere and he made the call.

The river was the {9-Spades} and the carnage stopped with both players checking it down. Wang tabled {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for the best hand to take down the monster pot. He assumes the tournament chip lead with 250,000 as Buchanan slips to 190,000.

Lightning Strikes for Konst

Daniel Negreanu just got done finishing up a conversation with Shaun Keller where he mentioned, "Back when I used to play professional poker, I played limit hold'em." Negreanu then raised the action from early position. Keller reraised from the button and Lennart Konst called from the small blind. Negreanu called as well.

The flop came down {J-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} and Konst fired a bet. Negreanu ducked out of the way and then Keller called. The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Konst bet again. Keller called again.

The river was the {J-Clubs} and Konst fired another bullet. Keller said, "I have to call." and tossed in the chips. Konst rolled over pocket queens and took down the pot. Keller showed pocket tens.

Keller - 111,000
Konst - 95,000

Barry Greenstein Eliminated

Greenstein eliminated
Barry Greenstein put all but 1,000 chips in preflop against opponent Brock Parker. On a king-high flop, Greenstein fired in his last 1,000 and Parker called. Parker held {Q-?} {J-?} against Barry's {10-?} {8-?}. The turn brought a ten, pairing Greenstein, but the river produced a nine and completed Parker's straight.

Chip Leader No More

Jordan Cairns Eliminated
Jordan Cairns Eliminated
Overnight chip leader Jordan Cairns has been wielding a short stack for large parts of the past few levels but managed to squeak into the money. He recently met his demise after getting his last chips into the pot with {A-?}{J-?} but found himself dominated by the {A-?}{K-?} of Lonnie Heimowitz.

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Heimowitz takes it down.
