Elezra Flushes Deeb

Shaun Deeb Out
Shaun Deeb Out
Shaun Deeb raised from middle position and Eli Elezra called on the button to see a flop of {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}.

Deeb fired a bet and Elezra raised, with Deeb committed enough to make the call for his last chips.

Deeb showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} with Elezra holding the advantage with {K-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The turn was the {7-Spades} and river the {8-Spades} and Elezra makes a flush to eliminate Deeb from the tournament and move up to 88,000 chips.

Just Joshing With Buchanan

Last Buchanan standing, Stephen, ain't standing no more.

He raised preflop and then four-bet to a reraise from Josh Arieh. He then proceeded to bet every street of the {6-Spades} {6-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} board, eventually getting his last 6,000 in on the river, and Arieh called him all the way down. What monstrous premium hands could these two have?

Buchanan: {A-Hearts} {9-Hearts}
Arieh: {2-Spades} {2-Hearts}

Arieh up to 165,000.

Duke Done

Annie Duke
Annie Duke
After folding on the river on a board of {9-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{10-Clubs}{K-Spades}{4-Diamonds} in a 40,000-chip pot and leaving herself just 3,500 to fight with, Annie Duke moved her last chips into the middle preflop with {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} but ran into the {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} of Kenny Hsiung.

The board ran out {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Duke's day is done.

Hawrilenko Turns Mountain Into a Molehill

Josh Mountain raised and then four-bet to a reraise from Matt Hawrilenko on the button; Hawrilenko called and they saw a {6-Spades} {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} flop. Mountain bet out and Hawrilenko called, and Mountain bet out on the {2-Clubs} turn as well. Again Hawrilenko called, and they saw the {J-Diamonds} river. This time Mountain check-called Hawrilenko's bet -- and then mucked in absolute disgust as Hawrilenko turned over {K-Spades} {J-Hearts}.

Mountain: drops down to 85,000
Hawrilenko: our current chip leader on 272,000

No More Noah

I can count the number of outs he had on one finger...
I can count the number of outs he had on one finger...
Noah Boeken has been eliminated in dramatic fashion with his opponent reportedly hitting a one-outer on the river to take the pot.

We didn't see the betting action but we were told that Boeken held pocket aces with the {A-Spades} and with three spades on board, and Lex Veldhuis with {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} only had one card in the deck to catch. It arrived when the {9-Hearts} fell on the river to leave Boeken headed for the exit in the worst way possible.

In Deeb Water

Also not having fun is Shaun Deeb.

Down to frankly shrapnel, he moved all in under the gun and got looked up by Doyle Brunson in the big blind.

Deeb: {Q-?} {7-?}
Brunson: {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

Looking good...

Board: {A-?} {2-?} {K-?} {2-?} {A-?}

Ouch. Choppity chop.

But the very next hand Daniel Alaei raised and Deeb moved in for his last 10,000 total. Call, and it was payback from the poker gods...

Deeb: {K-Spades} {4-Spades}
Alaei: {A-Spades} {4-Clubs}

Board: {2-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {K-Hearts} {8-Spades} {5-Clubs}

Deeb still in, on just about 20,000...

Scotty Finds A Pulse

Scotty Nguyen was all in for just 3,500 in the big blind with the words "come and get it boys" before the cards were dealt.

Dustin Sitar raised before Maria Ho popped it up from the button. Sitar called before folding when Ho fired on the {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop.

"That flop has gotta be all me baby," said Nguyen before flipping {9-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a pair and aflush draw as Ho tabled {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

The turn was the {8-Spades} and river the {K-Spades} and Nguyen more than triples up to around 12,500 chips.

Hard Time for Harman

Jennifer Harman has dropped a few chips to Jody Garaventa.

He raised and she called to see a {7-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {6-Spades} flop. Garaventa checked and then raised to a bet bet from Harman; she called.

Turn: {9-Clubs}

This time Garaventa bet out and Harman flatted.

River: Garaventa bet again -- and an insta-fold from Harman later, the pot was his.
