Full Huis for Michiel

Daniel Alaei raised his cutoff and Michiel Brummelhuis three-bet from the button. A call form Phil Tom in the small blind, and a call from Alaei.

Flop: {A-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}

It checked to Brummelhuis who bet. Tom just called, but Alaei raised. He got two callers, and they proceeded, as is traditional, to the turn.

Turn: {Q-Hearts}

It checked around to Brummelhuis once more, and again he bet. Tom now gave it up, but Alaei persisted and they saw the river.

River: {J-Diamonds}

Alaei check-called another bet from Brummelhuis and it went to showdown -- but Alaei knew he was beaten when Brummelhuis turned over {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts} for a full house and just mucked his cards.

Phil Tom: down to 95,000
Daniel Alaei: down to 260,000
Michiel Brummelhuis: did rather well out of that hand to put him up to 310,000

Painful River for Veldhuis

A raise from Greg Mueller in early position was met with a reraise from Lex Veldhuis; this in turn was met with a call from Chad Brown in the big blind and another call from Mueller.

Flop: {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}

Brown and Mueller checked to Veldhuis who bet in position -- and back to Brown, who raised. Mueller called, and so did Veldhuis.

Turn: {9-Spades}

Now Brown bet out and Mueller called; Veldhuis gave it up though and they went heads up to the river.

River: {Q-Diamonds}

This river was rather unfortunate -- Veldhuis claimed afterwards that he'd folded pocket queens on the turn. Ouch. Brown flipped {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs} and Mueller turned over {A-Spades} {4-Spades}. They chopped it up, and continued, while Veldhuis looked terribly sad.

Arieh Having Fun Yet?

Josh Arieh has taken a bit of a hit.

He raised in early position and called a re-pop from Matt Glantz furthe down the table, and the two went heads up to a {J-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} flop.

Arieh check-called a bet from Glantz on the flop, but come the {2-Spades} turn he checked again and then folded to another bet from Glantz.

Arieh: 70,000
Glantz: 225,000

Wahlbeck's Not Well

Ville Wahlbeck stuck his last 9,000 in under the gun and Phil Tom reraised in mid position. Todd Brunson called in the big blind but folded when Tom bet the flop. On their backs.

Wahlbeck: {K-?} {8-?}
Tom: {A-?} {Q-?}

Board: {A-?} {3-?} {10-?} {J-?} {2-?}
No more final tables for Wahlbeck, at least not this time -- he is well and truly toast.

Greenstein Keeping Head Above Water

After folding a hand on the river on a board of {J-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, Barry Greenstein was down to just his last 19,000 chips.

However he managed to double that amount a few short moments later from the small blind when his {Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} caught a pair against the {K-Hearts}{J-Spades} of Mark Teltscher in the big blind on a board of {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}.

Abort-eh Mission!

A disaster for Alexander Borteh who raised under the gun and then called a reraise from Soheil Shamseddin to his immediate left. Borteh check-called down the {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {9-Diamonds} flop and {3-Spades} turn, and then bet out on the {8-Clubs} river. Shamseddin called and turned over {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} for top pair, and Borteh mucked. He's left with just 12,000, while Shamseddin is up to 290,000.

Set Pays For Teltscher

Mark Teltscher
Mark Teltscher
Mark Teltscher raised from early position with Joe McGowan making the call in the big blind.

Teltscher then led the betting the whole way on a board of {4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{K-Spades} with McGowan check-calling him down on each street.

Teltscher tabled {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a set as McGowan mucked. Teltscher moves to 172,000 with McGowan down to 105,000.
