Justin "Boosted J" Smith took off running out the door about three minutes ago. He apparently has a stack that needed tending to over in Event #56. Smith was gone and back within just a few minutes though, drawing sideways looks from his table.
Smith explained that he ran over, tripled up, and came back to play into the money over here. "And I didn't even miss a hand!"
"How could you not miss a hand?" Negreanu asked him. Someone at the other end of the table had the answer: "Because we like to squeeeeeze!"
Rick Fuller raised in middle position and Allen Kessler reraised the small blind. Kessler drew one to Fuller's two and bet, Fuller making the call.
Kessler drew one again and Fuller drew two. Kessler bet once more and Fuller called, Kessler patting and Fuller drawing one. Both checked and Kessler's was the winner.
Abraham Mosseri raised under the gun, and the action passed all the way around to big blind Gioi Luong who three-bet it. He would stand pat the whole way, while Mosseri drew on the first two rounds.
After the first draw, Luong bet and Mosseri called. After the second draw, Luong bet again, Mosseri raised, and Luong called all in for his final 1,500 chips. Both players stood pat on the last round.
Mosseri opened up a eighty-six with 8-6-5-4-3. Luong couldn't beat it, and he's been sent to the exit.
Tuan Le raised first in from the cutoff seat, and John Phan called from the small blind. Big blind Ryan Fisler made it three bets, and both opponents called the extra 1,200. Fisler would stand pat the whole way, while Le and Phan each drew two the first time.
After the draw, Fisler bet and both of his opponents called. It was pat again for Fisler while Le and Phan took one card apiece. Fisler bet again, Le called, Phan raised, Fisler folded, and Le called again to make it heads up.
Phan was done drawing, but Le still wanted one more card. The last round of betting went check-check. "I was hoping you'd bluff me," said Phan, turning over 8-6-4-3-2. It was the winner, and he has moved up to 38,000 courtesy of that nice pot.
Ryan Fisler raises preflop UTG and Nam Le makes it three bets behind him. Both draw one card and both check, both draw one more once again and Fisler bets, Le calls.
On the final draw both stand pat, Fisler checks but then calls when Le bets.
Le turns over and it's good.
A few hands later and Le raises UTG with Fisler calling in the big blind, both draw two and Le bets, Fisler makes the call. Le then stands pat and Fisler draws two again.
Billy Baxter is out, first he lost out to Dustin Sitar's which was made after the first draw. Baxter called bets after the first and second draw but couldn't beat eighty-six.
Then against the same player he was all in after the first draw but unable to beat Sitar's , both standing pat after the second draw.
Daniel Negreanu raised from middle position, and Masayoshi Tanaka made the call from the big blind. He took two cards and Negreanu took three. Tanaka put out a bet, and Negreanu called. He would need two more cards while Tanaka stood pat.
After the second draw, Tanaka bet once again, Negreanu raised this time, and Tanaka called.
Negreanu was the one standing pat now, and Tanaka figured he needed one card. Both men checked on the end, and Tanaka turned over 8-7-5-3-2. Negreanu said he had made a ninety-six, and he slid his cards into the muck.
Just a few minutes later, Negreanu would lose his second consecutive pot versus Tanaka, sliding down to 16,000.
Tuan Le bet 1,200 after the first draw and Justin Smith called. Both players drew a single card and both checked.
Le then stood pat and Smith took a card, Le checked again and Smith bet 2,400 before Le quickly check-raised to 4,800. Smith made a slow fold and had flashed at him by his opponent.
