Bilzerian Doubles Through Moon

Adam Bilzerian opened by shoving all in for 835,000 from late position, and Darvin Moon called him from the button. Bilzerian turned over {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}, and Moon {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

The flop came {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}, and Moon's nines were still ahead. But the turn was the {10-Diamonds}, giving Bilzerian the better pair.

The river was the {8-Spades}, and Bilzerian doubles to 1.9 million. Moon has 8.9 million.

Fabrice Soulier Eliminated in 49th Place ($138,568)

Tommy Vedes busts Fabrice Soulier in 49th Place ($138,568)
Tommy Vedes busts Fabrice Soulier in 49th Place ($138,568)
Tommy Vedes opened with a raise to 185,000 from under the gun, and Fabrice Soulier reraised for approximately 1,000,000 from middle position. It folded back to Vedes who made the call.

Vedes {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Soulier {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The flop came a drama-intensifying {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades} -- a straight draw to go with Soulier's pair, but a flush draw for Vedes. The turn was the {5-Spades}, and Soulier was still safe. But the river brought the {8-Hearts}, giving Vedes the flush and the pot.

Soulier is out in 49th, while Vedes moves up to 8.55 million.

Kopp Continues to Climb

Billy Kopp raised to 150,000 from the cutoff and Luis Nargentino called from the big blind.

Nargentino checked the {A-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {3-Spades} flop over to Kopp, who bet 275,000. Nargentino called. The turn came the {3-Diamonds} and Nargentino checked again. Kopp fired out 800,000 and it was enough to induce a fold.

Kopp is now at the lofty heights of 16,345,000.

Bradley Craig Eliminated in 50th Place ($138,568)

Jonathan Tamayo opened the action with a raise to 160,000. Bradley Craig was in the small blind and put in a three-bet for the second hand in a row. The reraise looked to be around 325,000 more. Tamayo then moved all in and Craig quickly called, standing from his chair.

Tamayo tabled {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs} and Craig held {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}.

The board ran out {Q-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {9-Spades} and Tamayo's kings held strong. Tamayo stepped away from the table after the river card was dealt to pump his fist a few times. His railbirds yelled out, "Nice hand, Texas! Way to go, Texas!" as "Texas" is Tamayo's nickname.

Craig was eliminated after the final count was complete while Tamayo shot up to 7.5 million.

Enter: Ivey, Exit: Your Chips

Easy game
Easy game
With Charlie Elias and Tom Schneider being eliminated off the same table, a new player was moved in. To everyone's delight I'm sure, it was Phil Ivey.

Naturally, Ivey raised the first hand he was dealt, making it 150,000 to go. Marc McLaughlin called on the button and Kevin Schaffel called from the big blind.

The flop came down {10-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {2-Spades}. Schaffel checked to Ivey, who bet 300,000. McLaughlin folded, Schaffel folded, and Ivey took down the pot.

Zackey On the Rise

Warren Zackey opened with an under-the-gun raise to 165,000. He was called only by James Akenhead, and the two men went off to the flop.

It came down {A-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {6-Hearts}, and Zackey continued out with a bet of 225,000. Akenhead paused for just a moment before making the call. The turn card brought the {8-Hearts}, pairing the board. Zackey kept the heat on with a bet of 400,000, and Akenhead again called, though he took an extra minute or so before sliding in his chips.

The river card was another repeater, the {8-Clubs}. Zackey paused to glance at Akenhead before announcing, "All in." Akenhead's cards were already in the muck, and Zackey adds to his stack. He's up to 3.6 million after that nice little pot.

Kopp Gets Some Back

Action is slowing down quite a bit with each pay jump meaning significant extra cash now. The players are still relatively deep-stacked and in no need to flip for big stacks. Smaller pots are ruling the day now.

Kevin Schaffel opened one of those smaller pots to 150,000 from the button. Billy Kopp and Phil Ivey both called from the blinds. All three players checked the {6-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {4-Hearts} flop. Kopp and Ivey both checked the {Q-Hearts} turn as well, prompting Schaffel to bet 300,000. His attempt to win the pot right there (if that's what it was) failed when Kopp called to the river {3-Hearts}. Kopp then led into Schaffel for 550,000 and collected the pot after a Schaffel fold.

Tom Schneider Eliminated in 52nd Place ($138,568)

Tom Schneider - 52nd Place
Tom Schneider - 52nd Place
Down to his last 1.12 million, the 2007 World Series of Poker Player of the Year Tom Schneider pushed all in from middle position, and got a caller in Marc Etienne McLaughlin from the small blind.

McLaughlin turned over {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Schneider tabled {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. The flop came {5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{K-Spades} and the turn the {7-Clubs}. Schneider was down to his last card, looking for another seven or an ace.

The river brought the {K-Clubs}, and Schneider is out in 52nd place. He gets $138,568, and a big hug from his supportive wife, Julie.

McLaughlin now has 3.6 million.
