Dieter Stoeffler raised to 27,000 from the hijack and called an all-in shove of 114,000 from lya Andreev on the button.
Stoeffler:
Andreev:
It was a classic race, working out in Andreev's favor as the board ran out . Stoeffler is down to 330,000 while Andreev doubled to 148,000.
Mike Beasley had gone all in for 65,000 from the hijack position and was looked up by Wenlong Jin on the button.
Jin:
Beasley:
It didn't take Beasley long to take the lead. He flopped a flush when it came down . Any hopes of a boat for Jin were put to rest with the on the turn. The came on the river for good measure and Beasley is now up to 146,000 while Jin is down to 240,000.
George Medina opened the pot from under the gun with a 30,000-chip raise, and Allan Bække popped it to 85,000 in the cutoff seat. Medina called.
The flop spread and Medina moved all in for about 70,000 chips. Bække called.
Showdown
Bække:
Medina:
The turn card was a and the river brought a to the felt. Medina is out of the tournament and Bække is now up to 410,000 chips.
Scott Montgomery had hoped to win back-to-back $1,000 events. He even dressed up in a blazer for the occasion. However his goal was cut short by our new chip leader, Jason Riesenberg.
Riesenberg had raised to 23,000 preflop and called Montgomery's shove for about 135,000.
Montgomery:
Riesenberg:
The flop came and kept Riesenberga out in the front. Montgomery may have been hoping for a runner-runner chop, which was a possibility with the on the turn.
The on the river sealed the deal, though, and Montgomery went to the cage to collect his winnings while Riesenberg arranged his stack of 920,000 chips.
Sean Urban moved all in, about 99,000 chips, from the cutoff seat and James Kilarjian made the call on the button.
Urban tabled and Kilarjian showed pocket queens. The board ran out and Urban is now up to 220,000. Kilarjian slipped to 135000.
We just wrote a post about Kyle Carlston getting crippled by Alan Snow. After doubling up he found himself in the big blind calling a preflop raise to 22,000 from Wenlong Jin.
The flop came and Carlston went all in for his last 40,000 with Jin calling.
Carlston:
Jin:
Carlston had to have loved the situation he was in. However when the came on the turn, Jin picked up a gut-shot straight-draw in addition to his overcard.
The on the river gave Jin his straight and served as a brutal blow to Carlston who has been eliminated.
