Lee Chipping Up Nicely

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Bernard Lee was kind enough to let us know how he's day been going so far in Event #4: $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em. He's up to 34,400 in chips with one big hand coming from a spade flush before the break.

A player raised to 325 and Lee reraised to 1,125 from the button. His opponent called and the flop came down {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Both players checked and the {9-Spades} fell on the turn. The first player bet 1,100 and Lee called.

The river completed the board with the {8-Spades} and action checked to Lee. He fired 2,850 and his opponent called. The player announced a queen for a straight, but Lee revealed the {A-Spades}{K-Spades} for a flush and won the pot.

Dwan Takes One Down

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Tom Dwan (from Event #2)
Tom Dwan (from Event #2)

A player opened to 400 from middle position, and the action folded to Tom "Durrrr" Dwan who defended his big blind. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, Dwan checked, and his opponent continued for 600. Durrrr studied him momentarily before calling. Both players checked after the {2-Hearts} turned, but when the {q-Hearts} paired the board on the river Dwan led out for 1,650. His opponent tank-mucked, and Dwan pulled in the pot.

Busse with Aces

2010 World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner Shawn Busse raised to 425 from the hijack seat and the button three-bet to 1,175. Action folded back to Busse and he made the call to see the flop come down {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Both players checked.

The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and both players checked again. The river completed the board with the {8-Clubs} and Busse fired 1,600. His opponent made the call and Busse turned over the {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}. His opponent mucked and Busse won the pot to move to 25,000 in chips.

Bari Busts Mitchell

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

We missed the action preflop, but when we arrived at their table Nick "agriffrod" Mitchell and Allen "albari" Bari were heads up with the board reading {4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Mitchell checked, Bari tossed out 750, and Mitchell called. The turn was the {5-Hearts}, and Mitchell checked again. Bari cooly tossed out a lavender T500 chip, and Mitchell again called.

The river was the {4-Clubs}, and Mitchell checked a third time. Bari slid out about 20,000 - even though Mitchell only had around 4,000 in chips - and Mitchell check-called for a third time. Bari tabled {5-Spades}{3-Spades} for trip fives, and Mitchell tried to muck his hand but the dealer flipped it over - {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Bari recorded the knockout, scooped the pot, and is now nearing 50,000 chips.

Esfandiari Out

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

When we reached his table, Antonio Esfandiari was heads up with an opponent and the board read {8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Esfandiari checked, his opponent shoved for effectively 14,000, and Esfandiari quickly called. His opponent opened up {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for an ace-high flush, and Esfandiari mucked his hand before hitting the rail.
