For the moment, anyway. That's because Benjamin Alcober is currently our new chip leader, having inched over 1 million chips just prior to the last break.

Just now Alcober was involved in a hand versus a single opponent. The pair together saw a {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades} {8-Diamonds} flop, with Alcober's opponent checking, Alcober betting 14,500, and his opponent calling. The turn brought the {3-Hearts} and another check from Alcober's opponent. This time he fired 21,000, and again was called.

Both players then checked the {A-Hearts} river. Alcober showed {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} for queens, but his opponent had {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} for two pair to take a few off the leader.

Binger Straightens Out

Binger was way behind, but the {8-Clubs} {6-Spades} {10-Diamonds} flop did give him a gut-shot straight draw. Wouldn't you know it, the {7-Diamonds} spiked on the turn to give him the said straight and the lead. The {A-Clubs} river was of no consequence, and Binger took down the small pot while sending his opponent to the rail.

Dozier Doubles Through Cody

A player in middle position opened for 18,000 and was called by Jake Cody on the button. Katie Dozier, who is a member of the Grindettes, then moved all in from the big blind for 74,000. The original raiser got out of the way and Cody made the call.

Phan Makes Right Call On River

The board read {k-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {q-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {k-Diamonds} , with about 75,000 in the middle. John Phan had checked to his opponent, who fired out 45,000. We took a peak at the table because the floor had just come over to administer the clock on Phan, who according to a tablemate after the hand, had been thinking for four and a half minutes. It only took about 20 more seconds for Phan to toss in the call, and his opponent didn't look too thrilled by the call. He flashed {7-} {7-} , and Phan turn over a winning {a-Diamonds} {q-Clubs} .

After that boost, Phan is now sitting on 570,000.

Phahurat Plays "Like a Chicken"

AP Phahurat and an opponent were heads up on a board of {k-Hearts} {9-Spades} {10-Diamonds} . Phahurat's opponent checked, and Phahurat asked for a count. The player gave a rough estimate, then Phahurat checked behind.

The turn was the {7-Spades} , both players checked again, and the {7-Clubs} completed the board. The player checked a third time.

"How much will you call?" Phahurat asked.

The player didn't answer, and Phahurat fired 40,000. The player called, and Phahurat showed {a-Spades} {k-Clubs} . His opponent mucked {q-Spades} {q-Clubs} .

"Man," Phahurat said after the hand. "I played that like a f***ing chicken."

Moorman Over Randall

There was about 63,000 in the middle, the first three community cards having come {8-Spades} {6-Clubs} {7-Hearts} , when Chris Moorman fired a bet of 30,000. David Randall responded by raising to 76,000, and Moorman made the call. Both then checked the {2-Hearts} turn and {10-Hearts} river.

At showdown, Moorman turned over {A-Spades} {10-Spades} for a rivered pair of tens, and Randall mucked.
