Matusow's Misstep Costs Him Remaining Chips

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

Big O

Alexey Makarov opened for 6,000 in the cutoff and Mike Matusow called on the button. Timothy Batow made it 16,500 in the small blind and it went three ways to the flop, but action checked to the river with {10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} on the felt. Matusow tossed his last 10,900 in after two checks, and Batow called. Makarov repotted to 95,500 and Batow tanked awhile and called.

Makarov had {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for a four-two low and aces up. Batow had {a-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{k-Spades} for the nut low. Matusow looked disgusted with himself and shook his head.

"Why did I bet the river?" he asked, showing {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. "I lost all my chips today in big O, my best game. Stupid, stupid bet. No reason to bet the river."

Catching the action on the second draw with each player committing 15,000 each, Jon Turner drew two from the small blind, Anthony Zinno drew one from the big blind, and Lars Gronning drew two from under the gun.

Turner checked, Zinno bet out 10,000, and Gronning raised all in for his last 19,100. Turner and Zinno both called and drew one as Gronning stood pat.

Turner and Zinno checked, and Gronning tabled his {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} for an eight-low and seven-dugi, and Turner and Zinno mucked.

Top Pair for Yakovenko

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Nikolai Yakovenko opened the cutoff to 6,600 and James Woods three-bet to 16,000 from the button.

Yakovenko called, and then both players checked the {Q-Spades}{A-Spades}{5-Spades} flop.

The turn landed the {4-Clubs}, and after another Yakovenko check, Woods bet out 22,000. Yakovenko called, and the river landed the {J-Spades}.

Yakovenko checked, as did Woods, and Yakovenko tabled his {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for top pair. Woods mucked, and Yakovenko collected the pot.

Matusow on Fumes

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Badacey

Mike Matusow put in a three-bet for a good chunk of his stack before the draw and was called in two spots. He drew one, as did Lawrence Berg, while Alexey Makarov took two on the button. After the draw, Berg led the betting. Matusow then took one, Berg one and Makarov two. Berg bet again and Makarov raised. Matusow thought awhile and folded, leaving just under 17,000 back. Berg and Makarov would chop the pot at showdown with an eight-seven and a five-badugi, respectively.

The next hand, Matusow raised on the button and Dylan Linde defended big blind. Linde took three and Matusow two. They got the rest in on a check-raise and Linde took two, Matusow one. Both players needed one on the final pull.

Linde made {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} and pulled the {a-Spades} for a six-five low and a three-card six. Matusow had {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{a-Diamonds} for a made badugi and he sweated out a no-side heart. The {2-Hearts} would give him a scoop and that's exactly what he turned over.

Klodnicki Scoops Zinno

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Badacey

Anthony Zinno raised in the cutoff and Chris Klodnicki made it three bets to go from the small blind. Zinno called, and drew two behind Klodnicki drawing one.

Klodnicki bet and Zinno called, and the same draw was repeated.

Klodnicki bet 10,000 and Zinno called. Klodnicki stood pat, and Zinno asked for one.

Both players checked, and Klodnicki tabled his {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{A-Hearts} for a nine-low and an eight-dugi. Zinno couldn't beat it, and Klodnicki scooped the pot.

Johnson Eliminated Thornton

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Schuyler Thornton potted for most of his stack and got called by Marco Johnson and Jon Turner in the blinds. The flop came {3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Johnson bet 6,000. Turner mucked and Thornton stuck his remaining chips in.

Thornton: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Johnson: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Johnson got there on the low right away when the {2-Hearts} hit and the {10-Diamonds} river paired him to make it a scoop.

Prasetyo Eliminates Attie

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Limit Omaha

After a Bryce Yockey raise, Alberto Attie got his last 14,800 in and was called in three spots. Action checked to Aditya Prasetyo, who bet the {3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop from the button. Yockey bet into him on the {q-Clubs} turn, and Prasetyo called, while the big blind mucked. Both checked the {5-Clubs} and Prasetyo took it with {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for two pair.

A frustrated Attie revealed {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

At another table, a short-stacked Ray Dehkharghani went bust.
