Johnson Gets Rid of Bilbao

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Alexander Bilbao
Alexander Bilbao

The board read {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and there was over 200,000 in the middle already. Jason Johnson had checked in the big blind and Alexander Bilbao shoved for 130,000 from under the gun. Johnson tanked for a bit and then called.

Alexander Bilbao: {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Jason Johnson: {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Bilbao had flopped two pair and Johnson held just top pair.

The river completed the board with the {q-Clubs} to pair the board and counterfeited Bilbao's two pair. Johnson's ten counted as the kicker to eliminate Bilbao from the tournament.

Doubles for MacKinnon and Martin

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

DJ MacKinnon got his last 187,000 chips in with {q-Clubs}{10-Spades} against the {k-Hearts}{4-Clubs} of Thiago Nishijima, only for the board to run out {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{a-Spades} giving MacKinnon a pair and doubling him up.

A short while later, Denis Timofeev was looking to crack the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} of Juan Carlos Martin with the Russian holding {j-Spades}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{a-Spades}{5-Spades} meaning Martin doubled up.

Jerry Young was all-in with {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} against the {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} of Denis Timofeev.

The flop {q-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} gave Young a set of queens, but the {k-Spades} turn gave Timofeev a straight. Young needed the board to pair, but it was the {2-Clubs} and he was eliminated.

Gallagher Takes Berger Down

Level 24 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Matthew Berger
Matthew Berger

Alexander Bilbao raised to 50,000 from mid-position and Ben Yu three-bet to 140,000 from the late position. Action folded to Michael Gallagher in the small blind who shoved. Matthew Berger did the same from the big blind with the shorter stack. Bilbao quickly folded but Yu needed some more time. Yu tanked for a while and looked at his cards again.

"It feels like it's the Main Event here, but not quite though." Yu said with a bit of a smile on his face. He looked at his cards several more times and then opted to fold.

Matthew Berger: {J-Spades}{9-Spades}
Michael Gallagher: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for Gallagher's pocket kings to hold and take Berger out in 27th place.
