Eichhorn's Stack in Ruins

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

A-5 Triple Draw

Dennis Eichhorn had one of the bigger stacks in the tournament recently but is now nursing just 51,000. He managed to survive recently in a pot against Mike Noori wherein Eichhorn and Noori each checked after the first draw and took two. Eichhorn bet and Noori called, then they both took one.

Eichhorn slid his last 4,000 in and Noori considered for awhile before dropping in calling chips. Eichhorn could muster only {k-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{a-} but Noori had a worse king: {k-}{9-}{5-}{3-}{a-}.

A-5 Triple Draw

Johannes Becker check-raised after the first draw against Nissen Osterneck, who called. Becker patted and Osterneck took a card. Becker bet and Osterneck called. Both players were pat and Becker considered for about 15 seconds before betting. Osterneck called and Becker laughed and pointed at his hand, indicating it was the winner.

Becker flashed what looked like a jack and Osterneck took it with {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{a-}.

"Sheepish," Osterneck said with a laugh. "You had a sheepish look on your face."

Mcdermott's Jack-dugi Survives

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Badugi

Tim Mcdermott raised in the cutoff and got called by both blinds: Brian Hastings (small) and Alex Simma (big). Hastings took one, Simma two, and Mcdermott was pat.

Hastings and Simma check-called a bet and drew one apiece and the whole process repeated before the third draw.

Mcdermott then checked back his {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and claimed the pot.

"Surviving against two people, good!" Simma observed.

Two More for Vitch

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Chris Vitch check-raised after the second draw against Mike Noori, who called. Both players were pat and Noori called a final bet.

"Eight-perfect," Vitch said.

Noori flashed what looked like an eight-six and mucked.

"That's how you do it, huh, Chris?" he said. "That's how you win a draw bracelet."

The next hand, Scott Seiver opened button for a raise and Vitch made it three bets in the small blind. Seiver came along and pulled three while Vitch took just one. Seiver called again and drew two. Though Vitch was still drawing as well, Seiver folded to a bet.

Hastings Magnetizes More Chips

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

A-5 Triple Draw

Timothy Mcdermott was betting after the first draw and Jason Riesenberg, sitting to his left, raised. Brian Hastings called and so did Mcdermott and they all drew one.

Riesenberg fired another bet but Hastings and Mcdermott were hanging there. All drew three again and Riesenberg bet one more time. Hastings called and the action stopped at Mcdermott who paused for a moment. But he eventually gave up only to see Riesenberg muck his hand. Hastings didn't need to show anything to rake in the pot.

"I had a nine," Mcdermott revealed.

Fortunately for Riesenberg, he was able to immediately recover some of his lost chips as he knocked out Nicholas Julia in the following hand, making seven-five against seven-six.

Turner Bricks It Thrice

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Michael Wagner check-raised out of the big blind after the first draw and Jon Turner called. Wagner was pat and Turner took a card. He then check-called and took another. Both players checked on the end and Wagner opened {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}.

It sounded like Turner said he had three chances at a one-card draw, as he mucked {7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} in disgust.

Chris Vitch raised and Steve Sung defended the big blind. Both players took two and Sung came out betting, with Vitch making the call. They each took one and checked, then took one again. Sung bet on the end and Vitch put in a raise. Sung thought briefly and called.

"Wheel," Vitch said, spreading the goods.

2-7 Triple Draw

John Hennigan opened for a raise and Mike Leah put in three bets on the button. Hennigan called and was behind in the draw taking two against one and check-calling. Before the last round of draws, Hennigan bet and Leah put in his last 3,000 or so. They each patted.

"Ten," Hennigan said, showing what looked like a rough one with {10-}{9-}{8-}{7-} and a baby.

Leah had a wheel and doubled through.
