Bhandari Adds to His Stack

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

A player in early position raised to 800 and Balram Bhandari re-raised to 1,800 from the big blind. The player called and they went heads-up to the {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} flop.

Bhandari checked and his opponent tossed out a bet of 2,500. Bhandari check-raised to 5,600 and the player called. The dealer burned and turned the {4-Diamonds} and Bhandari led out with a bet of 9,500. His opponent folded and Bhandari added the pot to his stack.

"If You're Gonna Go Out, That's the Way to Go Out"

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante
John Racener has been eliminated
John Racener has been eliminated

Jason Gray opened to 1,025 in middle position and John Racener flatted in the hijack. The small blind came along but he was just a sparring partner on the {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} which brought fireworks from Gray and Racener.

Gray continued for 3,100, Racener raised to 8,400 and the action returned to Gray who countered with a three-bet to 19,100. Racener shoved all in for just over 30,000 and Gray was ready to go.

Racener was ahead with {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} but Gray had a straight flush draw with {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. And he captured the best card on the {8-Diamonds} turn, leaving Racener drawing dead.

"If you're gonna go out, that's the way to go out, right?" Racener said before leaving the table.

Meanwhile, a meaningless {K-Hearts} completed the board and Gray moved up to 90,000 or so.

Violette Gives It Up

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

On a board reading {5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, Cyndy Violette bet 7,000 into about 10,000 from under the gun. Her opponent on the button called and they saw a {k-Spades} river. Violette thought for some time and then checked. Her opponent simply turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Violette took one last peek at her holding before flicking it to the dealer.

Despite the setback, Violette has amassed nearly three starting stacks.

Duhamel Versus Ivey

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

It folded to Jonathan Duhamel in the cutoff and he raised to 1,000. The player on the button called, as did Phil Ivey from the big blind.

The flop was {2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Ivey checked to Duhamel who now bet 1,500. The player on the button folded, but Ivey called. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and Ivey checked again. Duhamel bet 3,600 and that was enough to make Ivey fold.

Hansen Starting to Jump In

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

The board read {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, action checked to Gus Hansen on the button who bet 2,000 and the small blind opponent made the call. The {6-Spades} fell on the turn and both players checked.

The river was a {6-Hearts}, action again checked to Hansen who threw in a hefty bet of 11,000. His opponent quickly mucked and Hansen scooped in one of his first pots since joining the tournament.
