Morgan Over Xu in Five-Bet Pot

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

According to Jack Sinclair, action went crazy preflop between Liang Xu in late position and Benjamin Morgan in the small blind. Xu opened for 1,000, Morgan made it 3,000, Xu came back with 9,000 and Morgan fired in 20,000. Xu called and then called 20,000 more on {5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. Both checked the {q-Diamonds} and Morgan jammed on the {9-Hearts} river.

Xu went into the tank awhile before deciding to fold. He said afterward he had only ace-high but almost called.

"Ace-high?!" said a shocked Morgan with a smile. "I'm not gonna bluff you again."

Pellegrino Value Bets the Worst Hand

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Three players saw an {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop and two of them checked to Bryan Pellegrino, who bet 1,600. One player check-called the bet.

On the {2-Hearts} turn, the player check-called 3,600 from Pellegrino and on the {J-Hearts} river, he snap-called a bet of 12,400.

Confidently, Pellegrino turned over {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} for a set of sevens but it wasn't best. His opponent tabled {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for a set of kings and Pellegrino had to part with some of his stack.

Big Call for Drinan

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

The flop was showing {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and four players were in the hand when we got to the table. The players in the blinds checked and the cutoff bet 2,500. Only Connor Drinan situated on the button was interested and made the call.

The turn brought a {10-Hearts} and after a check from his opponent, Drinan bet 5,000. The latter called and the dealer revealed a {3-Hearts} on the river. After some thought, Drinan's opponent chose to push all in for a stack of around 50,000, putting Drinan's tournament at risk should he call, as the latter only had a stack worth 24,250 left.

Drinan showed his surprise regarding the move, repeating a few times "Wait what do you have? I think I have the nuts" and "I'm so confused". After a tank for a few minutes, he ended up making the call. His opponent tabled {q-Spades}{9-Hearts} for a pair of nines, and Drinan saw he made the right call, turning over {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the straight.

Harwood's Piles Keep Growing

Level 4 : 200/400, 50 ante
Loni Harwood
Loni Harwood

Loni Harwood has been constantly increasing her stack throughout the first four levels and she's now approaching the 200,000-mark.

We saw Harwood recently claim a small pot, that was originally entered by multiple players. The {7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts} reduced the match to heads up as Harwood (big blind) was the only one willing to pay a 2,500-bet from the original aggressor.

The {4-Spades} turn was favorable for Harwood's range and she evaluated the card as a good one for snatching the betting lead. Harwood fired 4,500 and her opponent gave up.
