Roselius Cracks Aces to Double

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Stephen Roselius is really liking his new table.

Roselius had just 35,000 when his previous table broke and has doubled twice in the first orbit at his new table.

Firstly, Roselius got it in with {k-}{6-} and outdrew {a-}{k-}.

Soon after, Roselius but his now 83,600 stack in the middle and once again found himself in trouble.

This time though, Roselius ran {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} into {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}. A {q-Clubs}{k-Spades}{3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{k-Hearts} run out, however, was very much on his side and now sits well above average with about 170,000.

Foxen Blasts the River

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We picked up the action on the flop in what was presumably a three-bet pot as small blind Alex Foxen tangled with his opponent in the cutoff.

They looked at the {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} where Foxen fired 6,800 and received a fast call. The {10-Clubs} then appeared and Foxen checked. The other player took over a minute but then he checked back and the {3-Clubs} hit the river.

Foxen reached to a stack of every denomination and threw in a bet of 21,800. His rival gave up and Foxen claimed the pot.

Lester Eliminates Papazyan

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Art Papazyan
Art Papazyan

Art Papazyan was moved from the orange section in the Amazon room to the purple section and found himself all in within a couple of hands.

The board was already {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Jason Lester had 37,000 in the middle. Papazyan was all in for 92,000 and it was Lester's turn to act. He went into the tank for a couple of minutes and he looked like he had a tough decision. He ended up calling and the hands went on their backs.

Art Papazyan: {7-Spades}{5-Spades}
Jason Lester: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

The river card was the {6-Hearts} and with that Papazyan got eliminated from the Main Event.

Panagrossi Wins a Big One

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The player under the gun limped. Kristen Bicknell, in middle position raised to 4,200. Jon Panagrossi, on the cutoff, and the big blind called, along with the original raiser.

The dealer spread a flop of {j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. The big blind and the player under the gun checked. Bicknell bet 7,000. Panagrossi raised to 17,700. The big blind folded. The original raiser three-bet to 29,000. Bicknell folded. The cutoff called.

The turn came the {2-Spades}. The player under the gun bet 35,000. Panagrossi took a few seconds of reflection before moving all in for 38,300. His opponent snap-called.

Jon Panagrossi: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Opponent {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The {7-Hearts} river completed the board and Panagrossi took down the pot.

''I had kings!'' commented Bicknell.

Delmas Eliminated by Wei

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Guoliang Wei raised from under the gun and got two calls before Adrien Delmas three-bet all in from the big blind. Wei four-bet over the top and the other players both folded.

Guoliang Wei: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Adrien Delmas: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The flop came {10-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades} giving Delmas top pair. However, the turn {q-Clubs} gave Wei a straight and the river was the {7-Hearts}.

Borne Approaching Half a Million

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Four ways to the flop of {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, action checked to Shawn Daniels and he bet 18,000 from the cutoff. Brian Borne called out of the small blind and one player folded, then John Choi raised it up to 65,000. Daniels folded and Borne carefully counted his big stack before eventually moving all in. Choi had just two choices, to fold with 140,000 behind or play for a really big pot and call it off.

Choi opted for the former and Borne claimed the pot without showing his cards, which he got some tease for by the other players at the table as he had apparently promised to show. By taking down this pot, Borne jumped up to almost half a million in chips.

Swift Tanks and Folds

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Pierre Calamusa raised to 2,400 from the under-the-gun position and was called by the player in late position, the cutoff and David Swift in the small blind.

They all checked through the {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{a-Spades} on the flop to the {j-Hearts} on the turn which they also checked. The {5-Hearts} on the river completed the board.

Swift bet 15,000 and Calamusa and the player in the late position both folded. The player in the cutoff raised to 40,000 which sent Swift deep into the tank. After about five minutes, the clock was called on him and the floor came over to give him 30 seconds to take a decision. After 25 seconds, the floor started counting down and Swift reluctantly open-folded {Q-}{Q-}.
