Deeb Gets Nit Rolled

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Freddy Deeb raised preflop from early position and he received calls from the hijack, cutoff, and the big blind.

Deeb continued to bet on {9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades} and only the cutoff accepted his 25,000-bid.

The {j-Clubs} turn was checked and Deeb fired 65,000 on a {4-Hearts} river. The other player took well over a minute to make his decision and then he threw in calling chips.

Deeb announced ace-ten, rolling over {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. However, he wouldn't get anything from the pot as the other players turned up {k-Spades}{q-Spades} for a nut straight.

Bounahra Wins A Flip

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Bob Bounahra
Bob Bounahra

All the chips went in the middle pre-flop, and Bob Bounahra was at risk for 120,000 against the button.

Bob Bounahra {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Opponent: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

It was a race, with Bounahra needing to hit to survive. The flop came {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Bounahra took the lead. The turn {a-Hearts} and the river {q-Clubs} changed nothing and Bounahra doubled up.

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

On a turn reading {2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and around 95,000 in the middle, David "Bakes" Baker checked from the big blind and Dinghao Zhang fired 49,000. Baker called and the {4-Clubs} hit the river. The action went quickly check-check and Baker opened {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a bricked flush draw. Zhang tabled {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and raked in the pot.

Ladouceur Can't Get There

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Marc-Andre Ladouceur was under the gun, facing off against a player in the big blind. They were on the flop of {6-Spades}{j-Spades}{8-Spades} where Ladouceur bet 10,000, his opponent check-raised to 25,000, and Ladouceur fired back with a reraise to 60,000. The other players called.

The turn was the {2-Clubs} and Ladouceur faced a front-shove, calling 89,000. He trailed with {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} versus {5-Spades}{4-Spades} and the other player was relieved when the {5-Hearts} failed to pair the board on the river.
