Bognanni Rises Further

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Preflop action folded around to Casey Campbell on the button. After he raised to 255,000 and the player in the small blind folded, Marco Bognanni, who has consistently been among the chipleaders throughout the day, bumped it up 950,000. Campbell tanked for about a minute and apologized to the table by saying that he "needed a sec." Campbell did find a fold, which sent even more chips to Bognanni's stack.

Brito Eliminates Miles

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Timothy Miles shoved from early position for his remaining 1,700,000. Jose Brito re-shipped his larger stack from middle position and everyone else folded.

Miles was in trouble with the {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} against the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} of Brito.

The board ran out in Brito's favor as it came the {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} to the delight of Brito's growing rail of supporters.

Flurry of Eliminations

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

In the past 15 minutes, several players have been sent to the payout desk to cut the field closer to the final three tables. The following players were eliminated.

Song Eliminates Vaux

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

From the button Loic Vaux raised all in for a remaining amount that was close to 800,000. Kevin Song who was in the big blind, wanted a count of Vaux's stack and thought for a while before calling.

Vaux held {k-}{10-} while Song turned over {q-}{q-} which was stronger than several players at the table anticipated based on the amount of time Song took to make the call.

The board ran out clean for Song as it came {6-}{3-}{2-}{7-}{9-} and Vaux was eliminated.

Double Knockout for Hallay

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

A player moved all in from middle position and was called by Axel Hallay on the button. The player in the small blind re-shipped for slightly more than the original all in. Hallay called the small extra amount to put both players at risk.

Hallay held {6-}{6-} against {a-}{q-} and {a-}{k-}. The board stayed safe for the sixes as it ran out {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Spades} to score the double elimination for Hallay.

Vaux Busts One and Doubles Another

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Robert Farabee, who was playing in his first-ever WSOP event, moved his short stack all in from under-the-gun. Action folded around to Loic Vaux in the big blind and he called.

Robert Farabee: {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Loic Vaux: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

After a board runout of {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, Farabee's very impressive tournament run had come to an end.

On the very next hand action folded to Jonathan Tamayo, and he shoved from the hijack. After the button folded, Vaux shoved all in from his small blind, which got a fold from the player in the big blind.

Jonathan Tamayo: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Loic Vaux: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Tamayo started the hand facing a dominating ace, but by the time the board ran out {3-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, he ended up adding new chips to his stack.

Gilbert Rockets Back Into Contention

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

After Adam Demersseman raised from under the gun to 260,000, Benjamin Gilbert then three-bet shoved for his remaining stack. Action folded back around to Demersseman and when the dealer confirmed the extra amount needed to call, Demersseman made the call and saw the bad news.

Benjamin Gilbert: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Adam Demersseman: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The flop came down {6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, and while Demersseman held some hope for the knockout after pairing his queen, Gilbert's aces held on the {2-Spades} turn and {8-Spades} river and gave him some much-needed chips at this stage of the tournament.
