Chuaprasert Takes From Kirk

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

On the tail end of a hand between Rittie Chuaprasert and Tanya Kirk, the latter bet the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{q-Clubs} river for 53,000 and Chuaprasert eventually called.

"You called with a jack?" Kirk asked and tabled {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a bluff, and Chuaprasert indeed had {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for queens and jacks.

Schindler Shuts Down Schutten, Rises Toward Top

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Jake Schindler
Jake Schindler

On a flop of {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} Jake Schindler bet around 100,000 and was called by Brekstyn Schutten. The turn came the {2-Spades}. Schindler fired again, this time for 225,000 and Schutten again came along with a fairly quick call.

The river was the {k-Diamonds} and Schindler applied maximum pressure announcing all in which was for all of Schutten's chips. Schutten leaned back and exhaled but tossed in the one chip call after a couple of seconds. Schindler flipped over the {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for flopped trips and Schutten mucked his hand in disgust with his tournament ended abruptly on Day 4, while Schindler is now among the chip leaders of the Main Event.

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Dario Sammartino and Ricky Guan have just joined Table 450 in the purple section in the Amazon room after having started the day in Pavilion.

The player in the cutoff raised to 22,000 and Sammartino was next up to act on the button. Sammartino checked out his opponent's stack and then decided to call while the blinds folded.

The flop came {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and they both checked to see the {6-Diamonds} on the turn, the initial raiser bet 27,000 and Sammartino made the call.

The river completed the board with the {7-Hearts} and they both checked. The cutoff tabled {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for Sammartino to pick up the pot with {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

Nakanowatari Doubles With Aces

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

A player in early position had limped in and been raised from a middle position player to 35,000. Junichi Nakanowatari had then shoved all in and action was back on the limper. He asked for a count and in total took about 30 seconds before folding. The raiser then confirmed the count and took another 20 seconds or so before tossing in chips to call. Nakanowatari quickly tabled his hand.

"Oh, man!" exclaimed his opponent.

Junichi Nakanowatari: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Opponent: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

"Okay, maybe it was a good fold then. Tens," said the player to Nakanowatari's left who had also apparently thought for some time before folding preflop.

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and was no sweat for Nakanowatari en route to a double.

Duta Bags a Knockout Before Bagging

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The dealer was heard calling for another payout on Pavilion Black Table 184 as a second player was eliminated in a short period of time. Florian Duta was collecting chips with his winning hand of {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} on a board of {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Spades} versus his opponent's {k-Spades}{5-Spades}.

No sooner had he stacked his chips before the floor had arrived at the table with a set of bags and instructions for the table about moving into the Amazon room to take their new seats for the rest of play on Day 4.

Double Elimination for Lu

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Henry Lu opened and Yevgeniy Fidchuk three-bet from late position. Jarod Minghini four-bet all in from the big blind for around 200,000 and Lu called.

Fidchuk then moved all in for slightly less and all three turned over their cards.

Henry Lu: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Yevgeniy Fidchuk: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Jarod Minghini: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The flop {3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and turn {8-Diamonds} didn't help anyone, although it did give Lu a flush draw and the chance of knocking out two players. The river was the {a-Diamonds} and Minghini momentarily was excited to hit his pair, but it gave Lu his flush and he knocked out both players.

Dollins Chipping Up

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Michael Dollins raised it up from early position and the hijack shipped all in for around 225,000. The action folded back to Dollins who made the call without any hesitation.

Michael Dollins: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Opponent: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Dollins held the larger of the two pocket pairs and the flop of {q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} was hardly any sweat. The {9-Diamonds} on the turn left his opponent drawing to just out and the {j-Diamonds} on the river was not one of them.
