On Monday, the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online continued with Event #19: $888 PLO Crazy Eights 8-Handed attracted 285 players who rebought 222 times. The 507-entry field resulted in a $405,600 prize pool and after 11 hours of play, it was Martin “bathroomline” Zamani coming out on top to win a $92,598 top prize and his first gold bracelet.

Zamani, who won a WSOP Circuit gold ring in February 2020 when he took down the WSOPC Rio Las Vegas Event #14: $2,200 High Roller for $89,143, has nearly $2.7 million in lifetime live earnings according to The Hendon Mob.

In 2019, Zamani won the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) $25,000 High Roller for a career-high $895,110, and a month later finished fourth in the US Poker Open $100,000 Main Event for $330,000. More recently just two weeks ago, he finished third in the Wynn Summer Classic $3,500 NLH event for $155,995.

Earlier in this series, Zamani finished fifth in Event #15: $5,300 High Roller for $56,400 and fourth in Event #4: $500 NLH Super Turbo for $22,950.

The final table actually began with just seven players as Joseph “biueberry” Cheong and Kyle “Vin_Gambini” Bowker busted in eighth and ninth place respectively in the same hand on the bubble.

Loren “BabyJesus” Klein was denied a fifth gold bracelet after getting his stack in with two pair against the straight and nut flush draws of Zamani. The spade flush came in on the turn and the river failed to pair Klein to send him packing in seventh place for $10,221.

Arkadiy “Crocofantos” Tsinis then bowed out in sixth place getting his short stack in with big cards only to see Ryan “Joeyisamush” Depaulo roll over pocket aces and hold. John “thirteen” Del Rossi then eliminated the short-stacked Jose "Bobbybaldwin" Barbero in fifth place before Depaulo followed him out the door in fourth.

Depaulo, who famously won an online gold bracelet last summer while playing from a New Jersey Whole Foods parking lot, flopped the nut straight with a flush redraw while Zamani flopped the same straight with two pair. The latter filled up on the river and Depaulo’s quest for a second bracelet came up three spots short.

Three-handed play saw the chip lead exchange hands several times, but eventually, Del Rossi fell in third with pocket kings into Zamani’s flopped set. The latter then took a slight lead into heads-up play against Shawn “Shadysteem” Stroke, but despite them both being deep, it didn’t take long for the final hand to play out.

It happened when Stroke got it in with kings only to see Zamani table aces. The bigger pocket pair held and Stroke had to settle for second place.

The 2021 WSOP Online continues on Tuesday with Event #20: $3,200 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller. PokerNews will be live reporting and streaming the action, so be sure to join us then.

Del Rossi Finds a Double

Level 30 : 40,000/80,000, 0 ante

Shawn "Shadysteem" Stroke raised to 280,000 on the button and John "thirteen" Del Rossi defended his big blind to see a {q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop.

Del Rossi jammed for his last 482,988 and Stroke snap-called.

John "thirteen" Del Rossi: {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

WSOP Legend: 3-Time Poker Players Championship Winner Michael Mizrachi

Michael Mizrachi

The World Series of Poker $50,000 Poker Players Championship (PPC), which was created in 2006, is considered the tournament where the best of the best take on one another and duke it out in a variety of poker games, a reflection of all-around poker skill. Imagine playing the likes of Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth, and Daniel Negreanu five days in a row in a short-handed mixed format.

Needless to say, the hefty price tag coupled with a small, elite field created a legacy for the PPC where champions are considered among the greatest overall poker players. A quick glance at its 14-year history shows nothing but greatness among champions, from John Hennigan to Mike Gorodinsky, and with the late David "Chip" Reese as perhaps the event's most fitting inaugural winner back in 2006.

Winning once is the poker professional's dream. Winning two? You're in a league of your own. But winning the toughest event with poker's best three times? Only one man achieved that improbable feat on this day back in 2018, after winning his first two titles in 2010 and 2012: Michael Mizrachi.
