On Tuesday night, the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Event #28: $3,200 NLH High Roller Championship attracted 202 players who rebought 163 times.

The 265-entry field generated a $805,600 prize pool, and after 11 hours of play, it was Daniel "RiverRats" Lazrus coming out on top to win a $205,347 first-place prize and his first career gold bracelet.

Prior to the win, Lazrus only had two WSOP-related cashes totaling $34,790 but his third was his lucky charm, as it not only came in a career-best cash but also with a coveted WSOP gold bracelet.

Final Table Action

Final Table
High Roller Final Table

Half of the final eight players were bracelet winners with both Jeremiah "freestylerr" Williams and David "dpeters17" Peters looking to become the first-ever two-time online bracelet winners.

With half of the final table already owing WSOP gold, there was a chance one of them would fall first, and Jim "BOCARATONE" Collopy was that person. Collopy jammed preflop with ace-ten and was called by Peters holding a dominating ace-jack. Williams started the final table third in chips but was next to go after he lost a race holding a pair of sixes to Brett "Metanemesis" Apter holding ace-queen.

The fall of the top stacks continued after Felix "madenspauwke" Vandeput saw his lead evaporate as the blinds went up and got in good with ace-nine against Lazrus holding a dominated ace-seven. Vandeput stayed ahead after the flop but Lazrus turned a seven, ending his tournament in sixth place.

Peters was next to go after his pocket rockets were tripped up Buzgon's ace-queen, and then Michael "DirtyMike973" Marone busted a few short hands later after getting it in with a made hand of sevens only to be called by Lazrus holding a crushing pair of eights.

A couple of hands later, Buzgon won a race with pocket eights against Apter holding a king-jack and Apter had to settle for third place and $87,246 in prize money.

The heads-up match was a battle of New Jersey players with Buzgon hold a slight chip advantage over Lazrus. The two battled back and forth until Buzgon called off his stack on the river holding a weak ace. Lazrus turned over top two-pair and Buzgon had to settle for a second-place finish for the second time this series.

The 2021 WSOP Online continues on Wednesday with Event #29: $800 NLH 8-Max Turbo Deepstack Championship. PokerNews will be live reporting and streaming the action, so be sure to join us then.

Daniel Buzgon
Daniel Buzgon

Daniel "RiverRats" Lazrus raised to 150,000 from the small blind, Daniel "juice" Buzgon called.

The flop came the {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Buzgon check-called a bet of 90,000.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}. Lazrus beefed up the bet to 612,010 over a pot of 492,010 and Buzgon called.

The river came the {3-Spades}. Buzgon checked a third time. Lazrus then jammed all in for 2,464,187 into a pot of 1,716,030. He had Buzgon covered by only 20,000 making the decision a huge one. After several moments, Buzgon called.

Lazrus had the {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for two-pair, which was better than the {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} top pair of Buzgon and just like that the tournament was over and Buzgon was left with his second 2nd place finish of the online WSOP series.

Brett "Metanemesis" Apter raised all in for 1,126,117 from the small blind and Daniel "juice" Buzgon snap-called from the big blind.

Daniel "juice" Buzgon: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Brett "Metanemesis" Apter: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Apter was behind holding two overs but neither appeared on the {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop.

The {9-Hearts} turn did give both players the heart flush draw with Apter holding the better draw but the {5-Diamonds} river was a brick and ended Apter's tournament in 3rd place for $87,246.

Level 31 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Michael "DirtyMike973" Marone jammed from the small blind and was called by Daniel "RiverRats" Lazrus in the big blind.

Marone had the {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}, Lazrus had the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

The flop basically ended it as it came the {8-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{6-Spades} to give Mazrus a set. The turn was the {7-Clubs} to give Marone a set and give him a minscule chance to survive. But the {10-Diamonds} confirmed the best hand for Lazrus and Marone was eliminated.

Daniel "juice" Buzgon raised and Michael "DirtyMike973" Marone called on the button before David "dpeters17" Peters three-bet jammed for 568,600 from the big blind.

Action was back on Buzgon who isolated after he jammed over the top for 1,152,474 and the two hands were revealed.

Daniel "juice" Buzgon: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
David "dpeters17" Peters: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Peters was well ahead with his pocket aces and nothing changed after the {q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop paired Buzgon's lady.

Unfortunately for Peters, {q-Hearts} turn wasn't a good one as it gave Buzgon trip queens and the {7-Hearts} river ended his tournament.
