Chan Gets Eveslage to Fold the River

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

On a flop of {2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Terrence Chan bet and Chad Eveslage, from the big blind, raised. Chan called to see the {j-Clubs} fall on the turn.

Eveslage led out with a bet and Chan called. Eveslage slowed down on the {3-Diamonds} river, and Chan took the opportunity to bet. Eveslage threw his hand into the muck as players headed out on dinner break.

Thorpe Says He'll Get Somerville on Next Street, Then Doesn't

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Mike Thorpe
Mike Thorpe

Mike Thorpe raised in early position and only got a call from Jason Somerville in the big blind.

On the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop, Somerville led into Thorpe, who called and said, "I'll get you on the next street".

After Somerville gave him the opportunity with a check on the {2-Clubs} turn, Thorpe opted instead to check back.

Somerville bet once more on the {8-Diamonds} river, and Thorpe called.

Somerville showed {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} and Thorpe mucked, saying in defeat, "I had a pocket pair as well".

Monnette Takes From Thorpe

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

John Monnette and Mike Thorpe were heads-up on the turn with the board showing {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. Thorpe checked from the big blind, then called when Monnette bet.

The same action repeated on the {4-Diamonds} river, with Thorpe check-calling a bet, and he mucked when Monnette showed {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a pair of nines.

Racener Takes More From Dzivielevski

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
John Racener
John Racener

John Racener and Yuri Dzivielevski engaged in a preflop raising war with Racener originally raising from the button into Dzivielevski's small blind.

Four bets each would go in before a flop of {j-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts} was spread. Dzivielevski check-called a bet from Racener, then checked again on the {4-Clubs} turn.

This time after Racener bet, Dzivielevski folded, sending Racener's stack toward 600,000 chip territory.

Racener Takes Three-Bet Pot Off Dzivielevski

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

John Racener raised from under the gun and called when Yuri Dzivielevski, next to act, three-bet.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts}, and Racener check-called a bet. He also checked the {10-Hearts} turn, Dzivielevski put out another bet, and again Racener called.

Racener checked for a third time on the {9-Hearts}, and after thinking for a moment Dzivielevski tapped the felt. Racener turned over {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} to take the pot.

Another of the biggest stacks in the room, Terrence Chan, just added to his total courtesy of John Racener.

With multiple bets already in the pot, Chan check-raised a bet from Racener on the {8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} board.

Racener gave his decision some thought before folding to Chan.

Dzivielevski Has More Company At the Top

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Not long after Yuri Dzivielevski took down a pot against Terrence Chan to top the 600,000 chip mark, Brian Rast won a large pot from Day 1 chip leader Eric Kurtzman to put him near the top of the leaderboard.

In a battle of the blinds, Kurtzman led the turn on a board of {5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Rast raised him, and Kurtzman called.

On the river {3-Spades}, Kurtzman check-called a bet from Rast who showed {q-Hearts}{4-Spades} for a full house, while Kurtzman mucked his cards.

Eveslage Takes Three Straight Pots, Busts Kitagawa

Level 14 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Chad Eveslage
Chad Eveslage

Chad Eveslage more than doubled his stack by winning the last three hands.

In the first, he fired all three streets on a board of {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{2-Spades} against Terrence Chan. Chan called on the flop and turn, but folded the river.

Eveslage raised again the next hand, and Kyle Kitagawa re-raised from the small blind leaving only a few chips behind. Kitagawa bet the {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop and Eveslage called, then checked the {a-Spades} turn.

Eveslage bet enough to put Kitagawa all in, and Kitagawa eventually called with {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for a gutshot straight draw. Eveslage had {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for the flopped set, and Kitagawa headed to the exit when he missed his draw on the river.

Then, Eveslage raised and called a three-bet from Christopher Chung to his immediate left. Eveslage check-called the {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop, and both players checked the {a-Clubs} turn and the {2-Spades} river.

Eveslage showed {a-}{k-} to take the pot with two pair, aces and tens.
