Assorted Counts Including a Fun Table

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

"Can you write down that we have the most fun table here?" Yaser Al-Keliddar inquired. Apparently, the entire table agreed that the winner of a non showdown hand has to show one of the cards and that has been going on the entire day. Vinny Pahuja and James Mackey are also there and it appears that none of the players from the start actually busted.

Kassela Takes From Porter

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Action folded around to the blinds, where Frank Kassela called from the small and Rep Porter checked his option in the big.

Porter called two bets from Kassela, first for 600 on the {9-Spades}{a-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop and again for 1,000 on the {6-Spades} turn.

Both players checked on the {j-Spades} river and Kassela tabled {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a pair of nines. It was good, as Porter mucked — awarding the pot to Kassela.

Rand Cracks Kings and Gets Value

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Kevin Rand raised in middle position to 1,500 and it was called by Lara Eisenberg next to him and the small blind. The big blind three-bet to 5,000 and only Rand stayed in the hand.

The flop showed {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and both players checked to see a {10-Clubs} on the turn. It was checked to Rand, who bet 4,500. That quickly called by his opponent.

The river brought the {2-Spades} and the small blind checked again. Rand fired 17,000 and his opponent snap-called with the {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}, but only to see Rand's {3-Spades}{4-Spades} for a slopped straight.

Sodafsky's Set Wins Big Pot Versus Aces

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Jill Sodafsky
Jill Sodafsky

With about 110,000 in the pot and a completed board of {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, Jill Sodafsky checked in the small blind and her opponent bet 50,000 in middle position. Sodafsky called.

The middle position player rolled over {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} but the rockets were no good against the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flopped set from Sodafsky, as she chipped up to one of the bigger stacks.

Yu Wins Flip to Double

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Ben Yu
Ben Yu

The action folded around to the button who raised to 1,500, the small blind three-bet to 5,500 and Ben Yu four-bet to 13,000 from the big blind.

The button tanked for a while before deciding to five-bet to 40,000, forcing the small blind out and Yu called off his entire stack of 39,200.

Ben Yu: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Button: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

It was a race and the flop came {7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}, changing nothing. The {q-Spades} hit the turn to give Yu the lead with a pair of queens and the {6-Clubs} on the river completed the board and secured Yu a double up.

Kalas Finds a Double

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Kane Kalas raised to 1,400 from early position and was called by the player on the button. The small blind then squeezed to 5,100 and only Kalas called.

The flop came {7-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Kalas' opponent bet enough to put Kalas all in for his last 6,300. Kalas called and cards were revealed.

Kane Kalas: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Small blind: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Kalas was drawing, and his flush came in on the {4-Diamonds} turn. An irrelevant {a-Spades} completed the board and Kalas doubled up.

Daniel Lazrus was down to just 7,500 and got it all in preflop in a heads-up pot.

Daniel Lazrus: {a-}{2-}
Opponent: {a-}{k-}

Lazrus took the lead on the flop of {j-}{j-}{2-} but the board ran out {10-}{q-} to give the opponent a straight and to send the two-time bracelet winner to the rail.

Difficult Fold for Schwartz

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

In a three-way raised pot, the flop read {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{a-Spades} and Michael Schwartz checked, followed by his two opponents.

The turn brought the {6-Diamonds} and Schwartz led out for 3,000. Only the player on the button called.

The {9-Diamonds} came on the river and this time Schwartz checked and faced a bet worth 7,000 from his opponent. Schwartz went deep into the tank and eventually folded. His opponent only revealed a {j-Diamonds}.
