Sixteen Return for Day 3 of Event #39: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Handed; Yanovski Leads the Way

The third day of Event #39: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Handed at the 2022 World Series of Poker is set to kick off at 2 p.m. local time in the Bally's Event Center.

Yesterday Leonid Yanovski finished at the top of the counts with 5,000,000 chips, good for exactly 200 big blinds coming into Day 3. He has $429,994 total live earnings and a ton of deep runs in WSOP events, including a 4th place finish in the 2021 WSOP $1,500 No Limit Hold'em/Pot Limit Omaha - 8 Handed, but is still looking to capture that elusive first WSOP bracelet.

Yanovski is far in the lead, as the second in the counts is Jamey Hendrickson with 3,660,000 chips, and Jason Stockfish rounds out the top three with 3,320,000. Hendrickson is having a very hot run this summer as he finished second in Event #30: $1,000 Pot Limit Omaha 8-Handed a few days ago to claim the biggest cash of his career and will be looking for the highest place on the podium this time.

This event began with 719 players and just 16 remain in the quest to crown a champion. First place is awarding $371,358 and a gold WSOP bracelet. A total of 108 players made the money and were guaranteed a payout worth $4,834. The remaining 16 players are now all guaranteed at least $18,494.

There are still some well-known players who will do their best to battle it out and take home the top prize, plus one of poker's most coveted trophies, a gold bracelet. WSOP champions Andriy Lyubovetskiy (3,180,000), Jan-Peter Jachtmann (1,130,000) and Jason DeWitt (580,000) are such players and will have plenty of room to navigate throughout the day.

When they reconvene, play will start at level 21, binds 10,000/25,000 with a big blind ante of 25,000 and with a 15-minute break every two levels. A 60-minute dinner break is scheduled after level 26 (≈ 8:30 p.m.) and the goal is to play down to five players before calling it a night.
