Level 9
Stephen Moreschi
Stephen Moreschi

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Hieu Luu raised to 2,500 from middle position and Stephen Moreschi shoved his last 6,200 from the button. The blinds got out of the way and Luu called to put him at risk of elimination. Luu stood pat and Moreschi drew one.

Stephen Moreschi: {8-}{7-}{5-}{2-} / {x-}
Hieu Luu, {j-}{10-}{9-}{5-}{4-}

Moreschi peeled a {4-} to make the number twelve and pick up the double as the event nears the end of late registration.

Campbell Rockets Ahead

Level 9

Pot-Limit Omaha

Action folded to Robert Campbell on the button who raised to 1,200. The small blind three-bet to 4,000 before Campbell announced pot. His opponent called and they saw the {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop.

The small blind immediately jammed his last 10,000 and Campbell snapped him off with {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a pair of aces. His opponent could only show {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a pair of kings and needed help on the turn and river.

He didn't get it as the board ran out with the {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}, giving Campbell the pot and the knockout.

"In the private game I play in Australia, they call me Aces Robby," Campbell said. "Shout out to the boys at La Mamba."

Kessler on a (Slight) Rebound

Level 8

Allen Kessler was down to 7,100 earlier but has built his stack back up to around 22,000.

"And I haven't even re-bought yet," he said.

"That doesn't mean I'm going to do well, it just means I saved myself $1,500."

Badugi

Norman Chad raised before the first draw and received two callers, then stood pat as his opponents both drew one.

Chad put out a bet and again got two calls, then stood pat again on the second draw. Another bet got rid of one opponent, while the other stuck around until the third draw and took one.

Chad patted again, and both players checked. Chad showed {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for a Badugi and won the pot when his opponent mucked.

Donabedian Takes With Number Seven

Level 8

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Max Kruse raised to 1,200 from the small blind and Andrew Donabedian three-bet to 4,000 from the big blind. Kruse called and stood pat. Donabedian drew one.

Kruse checked after the draw and Donabedian bet 6,000. Kruse tossed in chips to call and Donabedian turned over {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} to take the pot with a number seven. Kruse tossed the losing hand in the muck.

Rast Peels and Busts

Level 8

Badugi

Brian Rast and Benny Glaser both put in 2,300 before the first draw, then called when Jaime Garcia re-raised to 3,200.

Glaser took two, while Rast and Garcia drew one. Garcia bet and both of his opponents called.

On the second draw, Garcia drew two while Rast and Glaser took one. Garcia bet again, and again Glaser and Rast called with the latter leaving only a few hundred chips behind.

After taking one, Rast moved all-in after the third draw and only Garcia called. Garcia showed {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for a three-card Badugi.

"That's not good," Rast said as he slowly peeled his last card. He ended up with a {j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and wished the table good luck before making his exit.
