Smidinger Gets the Best of Lopes Again

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Eric Smidinger
Eric Smidinger

A player in late position opened for 1,000 and was called by the hijack, cutoff, Gustavo Lopes in the small blind, and Eric Smidinger in the big blind.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and it checked around.

On the {5-Hearts} turn, Lopes bet 1,800. Smidinger raised to 4,200 and it folded around back to Lopes, who called.

On the {2-Spades} river, Lopes fired a small bet of 1,000. Smidinger put in three red chips, more than covering Lopes' stack.

Lopes, who only had 5,600 behind, showed Smidinger his {5-}{5-} and folded.

Song Rivers a Flush, Cleeton Cracks Aces

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Stephen Song raised to 900 in the cutoff and received calls by the small blind and K.L. Cleeton in the big blind.

The flop came {2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Cleeton bet 1,500. Both Song and the small blind called as all three players checked the {7-Clubs} on the turn.

The river was the {10-Clubs} and action checked around to Song, who fired out 8,000. The small blind went into the tank for about two minutes before calling, while Cleeton got out of the way.

Song showed {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for the rivered flush. "Oh. The one thing I was afraid of," the small blind said as he mucked.

A hand earlier, Cleeton had put out a bet on the river with the board showing {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and was called. He showed {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a full house as his opponent flashed aces.

"This is for the family back home," Cleeton's defeated opponent said as he took out his phone to take a picture of the board.

Chidwick Adds to His Stack

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The hijack limped for 400 and Stephen Chidwick raised it to 1,600 in the cutoff. The button, the big blind, and the hijack made the call.

The four players saw a flop {6-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and it checked to Chidwich who continued for 1,700. This time only the button stayed interested and called.

They both checked on the {j-Hearts} turn and the {4-Diamonds} river. Chidwick tabled {q-Spades}{8-Spades} for a pair of eights and it was good enough to claim the pot as his opponent mucked.

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Kevin Martin
Kevin Martin

Kevin Martin opened the action to 1,000 from early position and it folded to the cutoff who three-bet to 3,200, only Martin made the call.

On a flop of {8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} both players checked their option. The turn came the {9-Clubs} and Martin bet out 3,000, which was called.

The {3-Spades} completed the board and Martin sized up to 10,000. His opponent contemplated for a moment but eventually released his hand and the chips were awarded to the GGPoker Pro.

Gilbert Gets Called

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The early position player opened to 1,000 and was called by Johan Guilbert (button), Landon Holloway (small blind) and the big blind.

The {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop was checked to Guilbert. He bet 1,100 and only Holloway called.

Holloway then check-called a bet of 5,300 on the {5-Hearts} turn.

The {2-Clubs} completed the board and Holloway checked again. Gilbert sized up to 10,000 and was snap-called.

Gilbert tabled his {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} for two pair, sixes and nines but Holloway had that beat with his {7-Spades}{6-Hearts} for trip sixes.

Hirshik Lives to Fight Another Day

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

A player in early position opened to 1,100 and was called by the hijack, cutoff, button, small blind, and Max Hirshik in the big blind.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and it checked around to the cutoff, who bet 2,700. Hirshik shoved for his last 6,900 and it folded around back to the cutoff, who paused for about 30 seconds before shrugging and making the call.

Max Hirshik: {k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Cutoff: {4-Spades}{3-Spades}

The cutoff needed running spades or running threes in order to take the pot down. However, the {k-Hearts} would boat up Hirshik and give him a more-than-necessary pot to get him back to over 50 big blinds.

The {a-Hearts} completed the board.
