Negreanu Gets Paid Back on Three-Year Debt

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

A wholesome moment just took place on Daniel Negreanu's table.

Arash Shahi from Toronto, Canada was on the rail watching his fellow countryman tackle the Main Event.

At the 2018, Shahi and Negreanu were at the same table in the $1,500 Limit Hold'em Event at the Rio All Suite and Casino. According to Shahi, Negreanu paid for Shahi's massage after the latter realized he had no cash on him.

Shahi told Negreanu that'd he pay him back but when Shahi returned from the ATM, Negreanu was gone.

Shahi just told Negreanu the story and passed him a crisp $100 note with Negreanu saying "This is going to be lucky,".

Yaroshevskyy Forces a Fold

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

The flop showed {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds} in a raised pot with three players involved when Igor Yaroshevskyy checked from the big blind and a player bet 1,000. The button folded and Yaroshevskyy made the call.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and Yaroshevskyy check-called his opponent for 2,200.

When the {7-Clubs} hit the river, Yaroshevskyy quickly sent 10,000 in the middle and his opponent considered it for some time but ended up folding.

Sylvia Adds More

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Jesse Sylvia
Jesse Sylvia

Jesse Sylvia had 15,000 out in front of him on the river with about the same amount in the pot.

Farah Galfond was his sole opponent, she was looking at a board of {9-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and deciding what to do from out of position. The bet represented about a quarter of her stack. She decided to let her cards go and concede the pot to Sylvia, one of the biggest stacks in the field.

Feldman Reaching Chip Lead Status

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Ryan Feldman
Ryan Feldman

Action started when an early-position player opened to 1,100. It folded to Ryan Feldman in the small blind who three-bet to 3,600 and only the initial raiser made the call.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and both players checked. On the {j-Diamonds} turn Feldman checked again and his opponent bet 3,000 which was called.

The {9-Hearts} completed the board and both players checked. The early-position player opened {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for middle-pair and Feldman quickly rolled over {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for a better pair and the winning hand. Feldman's stack has surpassed the 200,000 mark putting him among some of the largest stacks in the room.

Liu Calls the River to Double

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Xuan Liu re-raised to 10,100 from the cutoff and Andrew Ivers called on the button.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Liu continued for 7,500. Ivers called to see the {j-Hearts} on the turn.

Liu slowed down and checked, allowing Ivers to bet 11,000. Liu called before checking again on the {6-Hearts} river.

Ivers shoved all in and Liu gave a shrug before calling for her last 36,200. Ivers showed {a-Spades}{q-Spades} while Liu had made two pair with {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs} to earn the double up, leaving Ivers with only a few thousand chips behind.

Champions Corner

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Scott Blumstein
Scott Blumstein

2017 Main Event champion Scott Blumstein was spotted in the field in a hand.

"I am here to! Fossilman is getting all the attention" he said, referring to Greg Raymer who was sitting at the table next to him. "I would not be here if not for him though" he added.

Also in the same area on a table right behind Raymer's is 2009 champion Joe Cada, to create a bit of a champions section in the corner of Bally's orange section.
