Weng Bets Big on the River

Level 12 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Chris Brewer opened to 40,000 from under the gun, then called when small blind Bin Weng three-bet to 160,000.

The flop came Q55 and Weng continued for 82,000. Brewer called, then called another bet of 136,000 on the 10 turn.

The river came the 4 and Weng cut out a bet of 485,000 from his stack and slid it into the middle. Brewer immediately threw his cards into the muck.

Vuilleumier Turns Rags Into Some Riches

Level 12 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Heads-up on a board of 1092A, Alexandre Vuilleumier bet 118,000 from the button and Chance Kornuth called in the small blind.

The river came the 7 and Kornuth checked again. Vuilleumier now checked behind and showed 74 for a rivered pair of sevens. Kornuth could only smile and flash KxJx for a missed draw as he mucked.

"Did I see seven-four win that pot," Keith Lehr asked from across the table.

Riordan's Queens Run Into Katz' Kings

Level 12 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

John Riordan, who had been nursing a short stack for several hours, finally found a hand to move his 180,000 stack into the middle from the cutoff. Cary Katz jammed over the top for 420,000 from the button. He could not entice the blinds to come along, and the two took the flop.

Level 12 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Justin Saliba
Justin Saliba

Justin Saliba had whittled down to less a big blind and was forced all in as Ren Lin came over to give him a good luck pat on the back. Sam Soverel limped in from the button and Lin called the small blind as the flop came 547.

Lin checked, then folded when Soverel bet 20,000.

Justin Saliba: KJ
Sam Soverel: A8

The 8 on the turn gave Soverel a pair of eights, and Saliba didn't catch any help on the 4 river and was eliminated as the unfortunate bubble boy.

World Series of Poker Addresses Solver Concerns, Clarifies RTA Policy

Level 13 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
2023 WSOP
2023 WSOP

In light of debate over the threat that real-time assistance (RTA) apps pose to live poker, World Series of Poker (WSOP) officials reiterated their rules for use of solvers at the poker table.

Players at the 2023 WSOP will be penalized if they are caught using or referencing a solver during a live hand. Additionally, the WSOP reserves the right to issue penalties to players who are using solvers between hands.

"If caught using RTA/GTO software during a hand, player will be subject to penalty up to and including DQ (disqualification) / trespass," WSOP said in a prepared statement. "We reserve the right to further penalize a player for using RTA/GTO in any other situation in our sole and absolute discretion. Players may continue to use their device to play wsop.com or use the Caesars Sportsbook app while in/out of a hand."
