Kothari Eliminates Balfour After Two Tries

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Preflop action folded to Dhruvin Kothari in late position who raised to 16,000. Sean Balfour then went all in for 59,000 from the hijack. Kothari called.

Sean Balfour: KK
Dhruvin Kothari: 35

The flop was 2Q10, keeping Balfour well in the lead. The 4 came on the turn, giving Kothari a straight draw.

"Wait wait wait!" yelled Balfour to the dealer. The river came 5, doubling up Balfour.

On the very next hand, Balfour faced a raise to 16,000 from a player in middle position and a call from Korthari. Balfour went all in for 135,000, and Kothari called.

Sean Balfour: AK
Dhruvin Kothari: 88

The flop came 9J7. Balfour paired up when the A hit on the turn, but the 8 river gave Kothari the win and sent Balfour out.

Smithland Up After Back to Back Hands

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Action began preflop with a raise of 17,000 from the early position player. Both Kurt Smithland on the button, and the big blind player made the call. The board ran out 10Q7, as big blind checked to the raiser. The initial raiser led out for 20,000, having Smithland jam all in for 175,000. Both players folded with Smithland taking the pot.

Fresh off his previous win, it folded around to Smithland in the cutoff. He raised to 16,000 quickly facing a three bet from the Gabe Ramos in the big blind for 65,000. Smithland resigned folding his hand as Ramos scooped this pot.

Gudala Building Massive Stack

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

A player opened to 13,000 from early position only to see the player one seat over in middle position three-bet to 39,000. Action folded around to Kaghu Gudala on the button who moved his entire stack into the middle. The original raiser reluctantly folded while, after some thought, the middle position player committed the rest of their stack to put themselves at risk.

Middle Position Player: AK
Raghu Gudala: AQ

Though at risk, the middle position player was in a good spot to score a full double just before the dinner break. It was not to be, however, after the board ran out 610Q93 to send a large pot over to Gudala, who has managed to amass a huge stack over the course of the day.

Elsewhere Humberto Brenes sat with a healthy stack of 265,000.

Ferraro Gives Up

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Picking up the action on the turn, Cole Ferraro in middle position was involved in a hand with a player in the big blind. With the board reading Q248 the big blind checked and Ferraro bet out 25,000 into a pot of roughly 40,000. That bet was not enough to shed his opponent, who called.

The big blind checked once again after the 7 river and, after some deliberation, Ferraro checked back. The big blind tabled 108 for second pair, sufficiently strong enough to scoop the pot and put a dent in Ferraro's stack.

Gold gets his Wish Granted

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Jamie Gold
Jamie Gold

Earlier today a new player sat down next to Jamie Gold. There was a minimum raise and six players went to the flop including Gold in the big blind and the new player in the small blind.

The flop came Jx10x3x and it was checked to Gold who bet 4,000 into a 5,000 pot. Everyone folded to the new player in the small blind who looked at Gold and said "What do you want me to do? I'll do anything you want".

Gold looked at him and said, "ok so go all in".

The small blind quickly shoved his brand new 40,000 stack into the middle and requested that he be able to film it for his blog to which Gold agreed.

Small Blind Player: KxQx
Jamie Gold: J10

The turn and river were blanks and Gold doubled his stack.
