Gabi Livshitz opened to 85,000 from the cutoff and called when Charles He made it 200,000 from the button.

Stein Fires Three Barrels Against Duek

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Michael Duek opened to 85,000 and called a three-bet by Sam Stein on the button, which brought them to the KJ10 flop. The initial preflop raiser checked and Stein continued for 325,000 as Duek tossed in calling chips.

After the 4 turn, Duek check-called another 680,000, albeit reluctantly, and the 9 river completed the board.

Duek checked the third street in a row for Stein to bet 775,000. After a tank of two minutes, Duek folded and Stein claimed the pot. During the hand, Anil Adiani and Zachary Hall filled open seats whereas Jessica Vierling was eliminated one table over.

Jones One-Ups Almond

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Steven Jones raised it up in early position and Philip Almond three-bet to 215,000 in the cutoff. The action folded back to Jones who four-bet shoved all in for 1,430,000. Almond asked for a count and then called only to be shown the bad news.

Steven Jones: KK
Philip Almond: QQ

Jones had one pair better than Almond and the board of J947K ensured Jones of a double up.

Grogan Doubles Through Hrabec

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Roman Hrabec opened 80,000 in the cutoff and Danny Grogan three-bet 175,000 on the button. The blinds got out of the way and Hrabec four-bet all-in. Grogan snap-called his stack of 755,000 and both hands were tabled.

Danny Grogan: AK
Roman Hrabec: JJ

It was the classic race and the dealer put out the flop of AQ10, pairing Grogan's ace. The 10 turn and 2 river were no help for Hrabedc as Grogan pulled in his double up.

Thomas Gabriel
Thomas Gabriel

Theo Arnoldi was down to 315,000 and moved all in from early position. Aditya Systla gave it some thought in the small blind but decided to fold while big blind Thomas Gabriel snap-called.

Theo Arnoldi: A4
Thomas Gabriel: AK

Arnoldi was dominated and received no help on the Q6108J board as Gabriel improved to a straight to send him to the rail.

Tang Gets Shown the Flush

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Daisuke Goto and Yu Tang had seen all the cards when the action was caught. On 4A7J3, a 520,000 chip pot had been amassed and Goto bet for another 170,000 from the small blind.

Tang thought it over for a bit and then made the call from under the gun.

Goto showed AQ for the ace-high flush and Yu did not have the straight flush in hand, and thus mucked his cards.

Magnificent Call By Magnicari Sends Ku Packing

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Doyun Ku opened from the hijack and Amit Makhija and Jason Magnicari called in the blinds.

Makhija and Magnicari both checked on the 1035 flop and Ku continued for 80,000. Only Magnicari called. Magnicari check-called again on the 8 turn as Ku sized up to 250,000.

Magnicari checked once more on the 5. river and Ku wasted no time moving all in for 675,000. Magnicari took some time and asked for a count.

"I think I'm supposed to call here," he said before doing so.

Ku shrugged and turned over ace-high with AK, which was no good against the top pair of Magnicari with J10 to mark Ku's elimination.

Yokosawa Has the Clock Called, Then Raises

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Masato Yokosawa and Henri Li built a pot of around 400,000 heading to the turn on a board of 5898. Li then bet 175,000 from the cutoff as action went on Yokosawa in early position.

Yokosawa, with Japanese media filming his every move, then tanked for several minutes until tablemate Mitchell Halverson called the clock. Just as the tournament official arrived to start the countdown Yokosawa put in a raise to 570,000.

Li quickly folded and Yokosawa took the pot. "Sorry," he said to his tablemates.

Jeremy Palvini: KJ

Palvini was in bad shape against Jachtman who held a bigger jack. He found no improvement when the board ran out 272J6 and was sent to the rail while Jachtman collected the last of his chips.
