Waysei Makes Two Pair

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

On the AQ7 flop, Amit Makhija checked to Koveh Waysei who fired a bet of 130,000. Makhija made the call.

The 8 fell on the turn, and Makhija check-called another bet of 225,000.

When the 5 fell on the river, Makhija checked for the final time, and Waysei checked back.

Makhija tabled A3 for top pair but it was so no good as Waysei showed Q8, turning two pair.

Stafman Hits the Rail Against Ihlamur

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

With more than two million in the pot to the 876Q4 river, Tyler Stafman checked from under the gun. Osman Ihlamur announced all-in on the button and that sent Stafman deep into the tank.

He ultimately announced call and one of the players instantly remarked "it's a good call", perhaps thinking that Ihlamur was still steaming from his ill-timed bluff in the previous hand.

However, as soon as Ihlamur exposed his 109 for the flopped nut straight, they changed their mind to "oh, it's not a good call". Stafman mucked his cards but the KK for an overpair were exposed.

Both stacks were very close but Ihlamur covered by a few big blinds. Not long ago, Stafman had flopped the nut straight with the very same cards against pocket kings and lost to now see his fate sealed the exact opposite way.

"I Just Won the Tournament"; Tosoc Makes a Huge Hero Call

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Ryan Tosoc
Ryan Tosoc

Charlie Chiu three-bet to 410,000 from the cutoff and Ryan Tosoc called in the hijack.

The flop came 442 and Chiu continued for 250,000. Tosoc called to the K turn and checked over to Chiu again, who this time fired out 900,000.

Tosoc called once more and the J fell on the river. Tosoc checked and Chiu then announced he was all in.

"You got me," Tosoc said as he tanked for a few minutes. He eventually put his last 2,430,000 in and Chiu showed AQ for a bluff.

"I just won the tournament," Tosoc yelled out as he turned over 66 for just a pair of sixes to earn the double up. He ran away from the table with his arms raised in the air while the dealer counted out Chiu's chips.

"You realize you just had a pair of sixes, right," a tablemate said to Tosoc.

"He's the best," another added.

Pier Papadia: JJ
Quang Vu: QQ

Any hope Papadia had quickly vanished as Vu made quads on the QQ5 flop.

The 48 completed the board, and Vu scooped in the chips.

Hall Bluffs Auer Off a Chopped Nut Straight

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

There was a big three-way pot brewing as Matthias Auer bet 175,000 on the flop of 782 before Zachary Hall raised to 625,000 and a player in middle position cold-called. Auer also called.

Auer checked on the 6 turn and Hall bet 850,000. The middle position player folded and Auer check-raised to 1,875,000. Hall called.

Auer then checked on the board-pairing 7 river and threw up his hands as Hall moved all in with him covered. Auer leaned over the table and stared at the board for several minutes as he thought through a decision. Eventually he folded what he said was ten-nine for a straight.

After the fold, Hall turned over 109 in celebration as Auer shook his head after getting bluffed off a chop.

"You can't call," Hall told him.

Racener Gets Maximum Value

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Picking up the action on the river, John Racener on the button was involved in a hand with Nikita Luther from middle position. With the board reading 8329K Luther checked and Racener, after a moments hesitation, moved all in for 1,960,000, about half the pot. That sent Luther deep into the tank as she contemplated a call. After several minutes, she did commit calling chips holding A8 but fell to Racener's flopped set with 88 to take a big hit to her stack while handing Racener a late double.

Curtis Muller: AK
Mike Lancaster: QQ

"Good luck to you," ClubGG qualifier Muller said before exposing. Lancaster demanded his "one time" and walked away from the table to watch it all unfold from distance.

The board ran out JJ6710 and the pocket pair held up.

Hunter Frey raised it up on the button and Hilton Laborda called from the small blind. They went heads-up to a flop of A106 and they both checked to the K on the turn.

Laborda led out with a bet of 150,000 on the turn and Frey called to see the A on the river. Laborda dropped in another bet of 400,000 and Frey instantly called. Laborda dumped his cards to the muck and Frey was awarded the pot without having to show his hand.

Rigby Sends Jayne Home

Level 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Picking up the action partway through the hand, Jordan Jayne in the cutoff was all in and at risk against Nicholas Rigby in early position.

Jordan Jayne: A6
Nicholas Rigby: A7

Rigby dominated Jayne and only pulled further ahead on the 529 flop. The 7 turn left Jayne needing to hit a non diamond eight for the straight but he was unable to do so as the 9 hit the felt on the river to send Jayne out late in the day.
