Du Scores a Knockout

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action picked up on a board showing 10A53 in a hand between WSOP bracelet winner Yue Du and David Graham.

Graham moved all in for his remaining stack, and the action put Du in the tank.

Du methodically shuffled a small stack of his chips while studying the board. He then asked the dealer for a count of Graham’s all-in bet, which the dealer confirmed as 9,800.

Du then leaned back in his chair and continued to look at the board. He then peeked down at his card before making the call.

David Graham: K10 All in
Yue Du: A8

Du’s pair of aces were ahead of Graham’s pair of tens, but Graham had outs to the river. None of them arrived, however, as a blank hit fifth street and Graham exited the tourney area.

Moneymaker Runs Into a Straight

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

After an open to 1,100 by a player in middle position called by the cutoff, Chris Moneymaker in the small blind squeezed to 6,200. The middle-position player called, as well as the cutoff.

On a flop of 297, Moneymaker continued for 5,200. He was only called by the middle-position player, who bet 8,000 on the 5 after Moneymaker checked.

The 2003 WSOP Main Event champion eventually called, then led out for 50,000 on the A. His opponent called for his last 21,500 and flipped over 86 for a straight.

Moneymaker mucked his cards, but players at the table asked the dealer to reveal them as it was an all-in and call situation. So the dealer took two cards from the muck and turned over QJ.

Moneymaker seemed a bit stunned by this hand for a few seconds while counting his stack before moving on to the next hand.
