Chang Takes it Down

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

David Chang raised to 600 in early position, and then a player in late position three-bet. Action folded back to Chang, who elected to call.

The dealer fanned 623 on the board, and Chang checked. The player in late position bet 2,000, which Chang called.

The 6 on the turn resulted in checks from Chang and his opponent. The dealer then placed 3 on the river, double pairing the board.

Chang reached into his chip stack and bet 7,500, which drew an immediate fold from his opponent.

“Show the bluff,” a player at the table said.

Chang chuckled and revealed one of his cards, the 6, which gave him sixes full of threes for a full house.

Matt Snook

Matt Snook, a singer who appeared on Season 8 of "The Voice," was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer earlier this year. On Saturday, he crossed off a bucket list item by competing in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event.

PokerNews spoke with the avid poker enthusiast prior to the start of Day 1d. The Kansas City, Missouri area native has never played in such a large buy-in tournament, but he does have quite a bit of tournament experience, including 12 Rungood Poker Series (RGPS) cashes since 2019.

Labarriere Extracts Value

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Julien Labarriere opened to 700 from middle position and was called by Manig Loeser on the button. Stephen Jaeger then three-bet to 3,000 out of the small blind, receiving a call from Labarriere while Loeser got out of the way.

Jaeger continued for 3,100 following the 3K5 flop. Labarriere opted to flat.

Action checked through the K turn to the A river at which point Jaeger checked once more. Labarriere bet 5,200, sending his opponent deep into the tank. After thinking for quite some time, Jaeger committed calling chips but mucked once Labarriere turned over A9.

Washer Smashes Queen on the River to Save his Main Event

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Mario Lauro opened to 700 and Floyd Washer three-bet to 3,000. Ronnie Bardah was in the small blind and made the call before Lauro put in a four-bet to 12,000. Only Washer stuck around with a call.

When the 743 flop hit the felt, Lauro moved all-in and Washer called off his last 26,700.

Floyd Washer: QQ All in
Mario Lauro: AA

Washer was in the danger zone as he ran into the aces of Lauro and the 3 turn was no help, however, the Q river improved him to queens full to remain in the 2024 Main Event.
