2024 World Series of Poker
Ben Nir got his final 21,000 chips in from the big blind and was looked up by Roman Sienkiewicz in the small blind.
Ben Nir: K♥K♣
Roman Sienkiewicz: A♥K♦
All seemed good for Nir on the J♦4♠J♥7♥ runout until the A♦ river hit the felt. He slammed the table as he handed his final chips to his neighbor and left the tournament area.
James McCarty raised to 3,700 and was called by Kannapong Thanarattrakul. On the Q♥9♦3♦ flop, Mccarty bet 2,700 and what followed was a raise to 13,000 by the Thai businessman. McCarty gave it some consideration and opted to fold.
Nick Marchington raised to 2,300 in early position and received four callers, including Thiago Macedo in the cutoff, Eli Elezra on the button, and Jordan Siegel in the big blind.
The flop came 5♦J♦2♥ and action checked to Macedo. He bet 2,500 and all four opponents called. Action on the 2♣ turn was then checked through.
The table checked around to Elezra on the 2♦ river and he bet 10,000. Siegel called, while the rest of the table folded.
Elezra showed 6♣6♦, but Siegel had J♠8♠ for a full house to win the pot.
Prior to the break, Mo Nuwwarah had won a larger pot but he just lost most of the profit to the UK's Robert Bickley.
Three ways to the K♥9♣7♥ flop, Bickley checked in the big blind and so did Kevin Theodore in the cutoff. Nuwwarah on the button made it 3,500 to go and Bickley was the only caller.
After the Q♦ turn, Bickley check-called for another 11,000 and they both checked the A♠ on the river. Bickley tabled the K♦10♦ and took down the pot. Despite losing this pot, Nuwwarah and Theodore remain the biggest stacks at the table.
Kimitaka Mori opened 2,500 under the gun and Michael Ernest called from a couple of spots to his left.
The dealer fanned a flop of A♦J♥J♣, and Mori continued for 2,200. Ernest called.
The 9♠ fell on the turn, and Mori dropped 5,500 across the line. Ernest stuck around as he tossed in a call.
When the 7♥ completed the board on the river, Mori pushed a green chip across the line for a bet of 25,000. Ernest put in a raise to 55,000, putting Mori in the tank for about two minutes before his cards hit the muck.
"Good fold," Ernest said as he pitched his cards into the muck.
Kuenwai Lo opened to 2,200 from early position and received calls from Dan Shak in middle position as well as a player in the big blind.
The big blind checked following the 8♣8♦K♦ flop and Lo continued for 2,500. Shak called while the big blind folded to send the two remaining players to the turn.
Action checked through the Q♠ turn to the K♥ river at which point Lo checked once more. Shak bet 15,000, more than the size of the pot. Lo did not seem happy about it but did make the call, though he quickly mucked after Shak turned over K♣J♣ for the full house.
