Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
In the 12th episode, Connor speaks with actress and conservationist Shannon Elizabeth on the 25th anniversary of American Pie, in which she played the iconic role of Nadia. Elizabeth talked about her roles in films like Scary Movie and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, playing poker with the cast of That '70s Show, finishing third in the 2007 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship and taking part in Phil Hellmuth's 2024 WSOP Main Event entrance.
Elizabeth also spoke about her conservation efforts in South Africa through the Shannon Elizabeth Foundation, including caring for and providing a sanctuary for a blind black rhino named Munu.
Seth Katich was sitting in late position facing an all in bet from the player under the gun of 15,000 and made the call.

The dealer gave the flop of 7♠2♥K♣ and the player under the gun almost sat back down until the turn brought the A♥ and the river was the 2♠ giving Katich the win with two pair.
Action was picked up on the river with the board reading 4♠2♠2♥8♣10♠. From the big blind, Jonathan Wang moved all in for 26,500 with a pot of 45,000 in the middle.
Dorian Melchers had to think it over for a while before he called.
Wang tabled the A♥A♣, which was the winner as Melchers mucked and Wang gathered in the double up.
Amin Hosein raised to 6,000 from under the gun and four players made the call.
The flop came 7♠3♦4♣ and the small blind was quick to check. The big blind moved all in for 31,000 and was called by Hosein. Juan Mareiras in late position called for his remaining 6,000 and all three players revealed their hands.

The board ran out K♠10♥ for Hosein to take the side and Mareiras the main, tripling up.
Yuhang Chen raised from a middle position to 6,000 and got a call from Connor Drinan on the button, Richard Dixon in the small blind and the big blind.
Four players saw the 8♣9♦Q♣ flop and action checked to Drinan who raised to 6,000, getting a call from Dixon and Chen, losing the big blind.
The 6♠ was turned and all players checked to the Q♠ river with the action checking to showdown.
Dixon showed A♦J♥ and Drinan flipped over Q♦K♠ for trip queens. Yuhang Chen threw his hand into the muck and Drinan scooped the pot.
