Marlowe Goes Into the Big Sleep

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Gabriel Andrade
Gabriel Andrade

No doubt the best bubble drama involved John Marlowe, who came back from the dinner break with a single chip worth 1,000, a third of the big blind.

Fortunately, for Marlowe, he was behind the button. So milking the clock every time the action came to him before folding, enabled him to hang around until only one more player needed to bust out for him to make the money.

When Marlowe finally put in his solo chip from under the gun, he got four callers and had the winning hand.

The win gave him 8,000 in chips, which was exactly what he needed to post the big blind, the big blind ante and the small blind.

The small blind raised him out of his big blind hand. No other player in the event busted.

The next hand, Gabriel Andrade, the button, was the only caller. Marlowe's tournament cash was at serious risk. No other table in the room had an all-in.

John Marlowe: Q1092All in
Gabriel Andrade: AAK6

The drama didn't last long, as Marlowe flopped a boat and it held as the board ran out 22Q10K.

He woke up and played at a normal pace after that, and was knocked out of the event 20 minutes later in 271st place.

The bubble has burst in Event #42, the unfortunate last entrant before the money was Ruslan Dykshteyn eliminated by Kyle Knecht.

During hand-for-hand play all tables paused as Dykshteyn was all in and called by Knecht. As the cards shown stood and the players hole cards hidden, the board read 103JA and Dykshteyn had all his chips in the middle for 27,000. The floor resumed play and the players revealed their hands.

Ruslan Dykshteyn: AJ109All in
Kyle Knecht: 6532

Knecht connected with a flush on the turn as Dykshteyn hit two pair. The river sealed his fate as the 4 and players celebrated making the money.

Top Ten Chip Counts at Last Break

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Here are the latest chip counts, according to the WSOP+ app.

Chips on the Move

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Table 138 has been as active as any since the dinner break, with chips piling up and moving around the table.

At one point there were players at 500,000 (John Riordan), 400,000 (Julian Velador) and 300,000 (Frankie Muzzio) chips, before smaller stacks started nibbling on them.

Riordan fed Ernest Essad some 60,000 chips in a hand he folded on the river, looking at a huge bet from Essad on a board of 7J69A. Riordan remained the chip leader at the table, thanks to a large take off of Muzzio a few hands earlier.

With more than 300 players remaining, three of the top 10 in chips are on this table.
