Action was picked up on a board of 7♣J♦3♦Q♣8♥, and Joshua Adkins was in the small blind and moved in for his last 400 chips, and Tsz Shing called from the big blind. The pot was about 28,000.
Joshua Adkins: K♣Q♠
Tsz Shing: A♦10♦
Shing joked, "That is too bad", as Adkins raked in the pot with his pair of queens.
John McDonald, under the gun, and hijack Naor Slobodskoy got all of their chips into the middle preflop, and Slobodsky was drawing slim.
Naor Slobodskoy: A♦J♥
John McDonald: J♣J♠
Slobodskoy badly needed an ace, and found one in the window as the dealer put out the 2♠3♥A♣ flop. McDonald knew he only had one out, and had his cards in his hands ready to muck as the board completed with 8♣8♠
Cary Katz started off the action with a bet of 2,600 from under the gun and Michael Shrader raised to 6,500 from the button. Katz made the call.
An action flop developed in the form of 3♠9♠10♠ which Katz checked. Shrader moved all in for 11,200 which Katz snap-called.
Michael Shrader: A♦J♠
Cary Katz: 7♠8♠
Katz flopped an open-ended straight flush draw with the higher part in his opponent's hand, leaving Shrader looking for any spade that wasn't the 6♠. The turn brought a 3♦ which was no help to Shrader.
An early exit came for Schrader as the 9♣ completed the board and was in good spirits leaving the tournament area.
There were roughly 8,000 chips in the middle on a flop of Q♦7♠4♦, Tomoya Kakihara bet 3,200 from the button, Michael Brinkenhoff called in the small blind.
Action went check-check when the J♥ hit the turn, and Brinkenhoff decided to lead for 10,000 on the 3♥ river. Kakihara called but got shown 4♠4♣, and Brinkenhoff scooped the pot.
Action was picked up on the river, as the board read out J♥10♣3♦5♠Q♦. Despite there being only 11,800 chips in the pot, both Glenn Fishbein and Ren Lin found themselves all in for huge amounts, with similar stack sizes.
Fishbein had K♥10♥ tabled, but Lin's turned two pair with J♠5♥ was the winning hand. As stacks were counted out, it was revealed that Lin just about had Fishbein's 45,000 covered, and he eliminated his opponent.
