Thorp Ousts Steinberg

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Timothy Thorp clicked it to 16,000 from under the gun and it was folded around to Max Steinberg in the small blind position. Steinberg raised all in for 84,000 and Thorp snapped the call.

As the dealer slid the flop of K10Q with a queen in the window Steinberg stood up to leave the table.

The turn brought bad news for Steinberg as the J slipped into the board giving Thorp a broadway straight.

The K river changed nothing as Steinberg hit the rail.

Levy Charges Duan on Turn

Chao Duan raised from the button to 18,000, and David Levy called from the big blind. The flop comes out with 10610, and both players checked.

On the turn 3, Levy took a stab and bet out 15,000. Duan made the call.

Both players checked the river 9, and Levy flipped over 88 and Duan mucked. Levy had two pair for the win.

Robert Borick opened the action and shoved for just 42,000 chips. Despite the small size of the shove, action folded all the way round to Mitchell Halverson in the big blind. He reluctantly made the call, leaving just 14,000 behind.

Borick survived the flip, as the board ran out 7JJ26 leaving Halverson extremely short.

The very next hand, Elliot Kampen opened to 16,000, and Halverson called all in.

Choffardet KOs Egbert

Mark Egbert shoved for around 75,000 from the cutoff and Mathieu Choffardet reshoved for 140,000 from the button, folding out all other players and putting Egbert at risk.

Alex Keating raised under the gun to 18,000, Justin Liberto three-bet in the small to 50,000, Agharazi Babayev announced all in from the big bling for 83,000. Keating folded and Liberto called.

The flop came J106 which was safe for Babayev, the 9 on the turn took him one step closer to victory but the A on the river eliminated him from the tournament.

Cutoff Chijen Chu opened the action to 16,000 and received a call from button player Stoyan Madanzhiev. Next to act Joshua Weiss shoved for 110,000, and after considerable tanking from each, he folded them out, picking up all the dead money in the process.

Goasdoue Doubles up Major

"We have ace-jack versus nines" the dealer announced as the action was picked up. Alan Goasdoue bet 29,000 from the button and was met by an immediate shove from Benjamin Chalot in the big blind covering Goasdoue. Goasdoue made the call.

Gonzalez Wins a Blinds Battle

With two players seeing a board of 6672 and around 50,000 in the middle Francisco Moreno Gonzalez checked from the small blind and called a 30,000 bet from Christian Roberts in the big blind.

Both players checked the A river. Gonzalez turned over trips with 96 and Roberts' hand hit the muck.
