The Ring Forces a Fold

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Nadine Rohde opened to 1,400 and got three callers in Samara Alexandre on the button, Lea Nehme and Safiya Umerova on the blinds.

While waiting for the flop, Alexandre was relating to Lydia Cugudda, who was at the table, about her WSOP Circuit Ring, and Cuggudda was urging Alexandre to show the ring.

The hand continued with the dealer unfurling 9Q2. After the blinds checked, Rohde continued with 1,800 but Alexandre went beyond and made it 3,800. Rohde folded, prompting Cugudda to say, "See, she folded because you have a ring."

Reigning World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champion Jonathan Tamayo flipped his way into this year's championship event, meaning he won't even have to put up the $10,000 buy-in to defend his title.

Tamayo announced on Sunday that he won a WSOP Online $160 All-In Flipament, a flip-and-go-style event that puts players all-in blind and that needs 64 players to run, according to Kevin Mathers.

Tamayo demonstrated his luck a year ago when he navigated the largest WSOP Main Event field in history to win $10 million. The longtime poker pro from Texas proved luck is still on his side in 2025.

"I won the 3pm one it seems," Tamayo wrote on X.

Yeung Builds Her Stack through Serfaty

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

On a pot of around 15,000 and a board of JA4J, Karia Yeung fired 4,500 and got raised by her heads-up opponent, Laura Serfaty to 9,000, sending her to the tank.

She took her time to consider her options then finally made the call to see the last card. The river fell 5 and both women checked.
Serfaty tabled K10 for a busted gutshot draw while Yeung showed A8 for a two pair with the board.

The flop gave AJ5 and Smith continued for 2,700, which only Limo called. The Q turn and Q river went checked.

Smith tabled 44 but it wasn't good enough to win the pot as Limo held A10 for top two pair.

Thirwell Hits the Trips

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Caitlin Comeskey raised from the hijack to 1,600, Zhi Liu called from the cutoff, and Marie Thirlwell called in the big blind. The flop was 252, and Thirlwell checked, while Comeskey bet out 2,100. Zhi got out of the way, but Thirwell put in the raise to 8,100. Comeskey contemplated and called.

On the turn K, Thirwell took the lead and bet out 12,000. Comeskey called.

The river 9 brought another bet of 13,500, which left her not much behind. Comeskey took a few minutes to think and made the call, but mucked when Thirlwell showed A2 for the trips.
