Event #70: $1,000 Ladies Championship
Day 2 Completed
Day 2 of Event #70: $1,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Championship saw 317 ladies return to the felt to battle it out in the 2025 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas.
With a $1,203,840 prize pool generated from the total 1,368 entries, only 206 players made the money. The bubble burst just a few levels into the day, with Geraldine Spears leaving empty-handed after getting in with ace-king against Alisa Baumann's pocket eights. The eliminations came thick and fast after the bubble burst with many notables making the money. A few never made it to Day 3 such as Kerryjane Craigie and Jennifer Shahade.
There are also many familiar faces that bagged and will return for Day 3, such as defending champion Shiina Okamoto. Okamoto had a great day and came into the day third in chips but improved to bagging a monster 1,495,000 stack, putting her in the chip lead. Towards the end of the day, she and her heads-up competitor and 2023 champion Tamar Abraham were on the same table and got into a couple of battles for chips.

Three-time WSOP bracelet winner and Hall of Famer Barbara Enright (565,000) also returned to Day 2 and outlasted most of the field, bagging a respectable stack to take into Day 3. Late in the day she forced a fold from Farah Galfond, which added to her stack. There are also a number of other previous WSOP bracelet winners set to return tomorrow including Susan Faber (850,000), Allyn Shulman (295,000) and Jessica Marks (217,000).
The remaining 50 players will return to the felt at 12.p.m on Saturday, June 28, to Level 21 with 10,000/20,000 blinds and a 20,000 big blind ante. Levels are 60-minutes long and there will be 15-minute breaks every two levels. There is a scheduled dinner break after Level 26 at approximately 6:30pm. Players are due to play down to the final five before bagging for Day 4.

The full recap will be posted soon.
On a board 5♥10♣K♣5♣ in a blind versus blind situation, Lang Yi bet 25,000 and called Shiina Okamoto's raise for 72,000.
Both checked on the 10♠ river and Yi tabled A♣4♠. Okamoto claimed the pot with 2♠5♠ for trips.

Sumire Uenomachi open-jammed for her remaining 118,000 from the hijack. Miaomiao Huang called from the small blind.
Sumire Uenomachi: A♠8♠
Miaomiao Huang: 7♥7♠
The K♥9♣A♥ flop went Uenomachi's way and she improved to top pair.
The 4♠ turn and 5♥ river didn't change anything, and Uenomachi doubled her stack in the last hand of the day at her table.

The floor has announced that each table should deal four more hands before bagging for Day 3.
Barbara Enright raised to 70,000, and action folded to Farah Galfond in the big blind.
"Why so big?" asked Galfond before opting to call.
The flop came 2♠3♠7♥, and Galfond checked. Enright moved all in for 438,000, sending Galfond into a long tank.
"If I fold and show you my hand, will you show yours?" Galfond asked.
"It's a deal!" replied Enright.
"I hope it's a good deal," Galfond said before revealing J♠J♦.
Enright tabled 10♠10♥ with a smile and raked in the pot.
"I almost shoved," admitted Galfond.
"A ten was coming on the river," Enright replied jokingly.
