Raises Gone Wrong

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Todd Bales slid in a single 1,000 denomination chip from middle position, signifying a call. He pleaded to the dealer, saying that he announced a raise, but the decision was unchanged, allowing cutoff Jeffrey Muncy, button Angela Defoe, and small blind Jerry Lim all to come along. Big blind Jordan Siegel checked his option.

The flop 3A4 brought in checks from all players, leading the dealer to put out the K turn. Here, Siegel opted to lead out for 1,000, and only Bales made the call. He bet out again for 4,000 on the J river, and Bales called again, showing KJ for a backdoor two pair. However, Siegel's flopped straight with 52 took home the pot. "Wouldn't have called that for a thousand," sighed Bales. "Probably not," replied Siegel

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Dakota Baggett
Dakota Baggett

Three ways on a flop of J3J, Dakota Baggett checked from early position and Martin Gerloff checked from middle position to Artur Martirosian, who bet 5,000. Both Baggett and Gerloff called.

Action checked through on the 5 turn and then Baggett led out for a hefty bet of 35,000 on the 7 river.

Gerloff called, Martirosian got out of the way, and Baggett tabled 55 for a turned full house.

Gerloff shook his head and sent his card into the muck — conceding the large pot to Baggett.

Blind Straddling at the Main Event?

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Angela Defoe
Angela Defoe

Angela Defoe is currently looking to make a "comeback story" at the Main Event, with just under half a starting stack to her name. When PokerNews was at her table, Julian Parmann offered her his large (in comparison) stack to take a photo with, before realising his stack was large enough to get splashy.

The very next hand, Parmann announced a "blind straddle" to 800 chips. They made for a nice donation to the stack of Javier Perez, who isolated to 3,800 from the big blind.

With 7,600 already in the pot, Douras continued with a bet of 3,000. Trujillo responded with a raise to 9,200, but Douras didn't cede, putting in a three-bet to 22,000.

Roberto Finkelberg: AQ All in
John Capano: KK

Finkelberg had flopped two pair, but Capano showed down a pair of kings and stayed in front through the 4 turn and 5 river to send Finkelberg to the rail.

Yanai and Goldman Both Miss

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Noah Goldman opened on the button to 1,000 and got two calls from Stephane Genet and Eyal Yanai in the small and big blind respectively.

The K89 flop saw Goldman bet 1,000 after the blinds checked. Genet folded, but Yanai called.

The 3 saw Yanai check-call Goldman's 3,000 bet.

Both checked to showdown after seeing the 9 river.

Goldman showed 76 and Yanai showed 104 with both players having missed the straight. The ten was enough to give Yanai the small pot.

Yanai remarked after the hand, "I don't know how I missed everything, I have days like this and today is one of those days."
